Spicy Crockpot Chickpeas

Greene really isn't into meatless dishes, but I would try it.

Well you can always have it for yourself in a pinch, in case you're hungry and need something fast and healthy.

No problem - the reason I didn't cook for the longest time was that it was such a bother cooking for 1 it didn't seem worth it. Then a friend pointed out I could make the full recipe and freeze individual portions. Obvious? yes, but was what I needed to get me back to cooking again.

Very true. I need to do that, since Greene and I don't always agree on the food. We made an agreement one time. He tries lasagna and I'll try liver and onions. I bough a frozen lasagna and cooked it, but he's never made his liver and onions. I would like to make a homemade lasagna. Just need to stuff for it.

Got this in the pot now... if it tastes as good as it smelled going into the pot I think this may be another winner....

Well they definitely are spicy, no doubt about it lol. Very nice taste to them though - they're hot too, but not nearly as they are spicy. One reviewer suggested serving them with a dollop of yoghurt, and I couldn't agree more (dang I wish I had some lol). But I had it with brown rice (yeah too lazy to make a salad, sigh). The spice combination puts this squarely in Indian cuisine and yields a tremendous amount of flavor, particularly the ginger. Great for something different when you're tired of the chicken, fish etc.

Usually not to found of Indian cuisine, so not sure if I would care for this.
