I joined a few months ago and I think they are awesome.
Why?
Because unlike other gyms there is heaps of cool stuff to do, not just weights and machines. I love their concept. They’ve got Power Plates, Pilates, yoga – all the new cool trendy stuff that people like that makes training fun, not a sweat fest slog.
For me, variety is the key so right now I am mixing up my bodysculpt at-home-workouts with a few sessions at Virgin Active in the CBD here in Sydney.
I strongly recommend that as you approach your weight loss goal it’s a great idea to then start setting some fitness goals, otherwise you plateau and often put the weight back on. If you’re near your goal then set yourself a challenge to do some exercise a few days a week in addition to BT eating and walking. Take things to the next level. You’ll feel great for it trust me.
Obviously, I am a big believer in my 4-week rule for people not exercising, but for those of you past the first 4 weeks, why not start to do some other exercise.
Right now for me I am trying to walk to work each morning and do some weights/resistance training most days and gee whiz, I feel awesome for it. The endorphins are pumping and I have heaps of energy and a renewed focus.
Spring is the best time to engage in some new and exciting health goals because the weather is superb. Warm but not too hot making morning exercise a very pleasurable thing to do.
So, if you’re bored or feeling a bit flat, maybe check out a Virgin Health Club. As Sir Richard Branson says, its “more Richard than Jim†haha.
I don’t normally promote or endorse things on my blog but I think these guys are doing a great job so hats off to them. But most of all I think they are a great option for Bters wanting to step it up a bit coming into summer.
Why not take 2 minutes and write your fitness goals below. They will help with your weight loss goal trust me.
A good goal might be something like:
a) Go for 2x runs a week for 20 mins each or
b) Do 2-3 resistance training sessions a week
Something in addition to your 10,000 steps that helps you step it up is a great goal for this time of year.
Things like this are great because they help you go to the next level. Let’s go to the next level together. I believe in you and I am committed to your success.
Dream big!
