Hello,

I am a mother of 3 just getting back into working out after doing 4 half marathons and being frustrated with my times. It probably would have helped if I had truly worked-out harder with each of them! I am however getting ready to do Baltimore Half again in October through Team in Training (Anne Arundel Team). I love being a part of something bigger than myself! I have lost 2 cousins and a brother-in-law to Leukemia, so as you can imagine this is very important to me. Getting fit is a bonus! It used to be easy for me to lose the baby weight after having each of my children. But now my baby is 7 and I still have yet to lose the weight. I have done Body-for-Life and lost 70 pounds after my 2nd child, but just can't seem to get into going to the gym 6 days a week. I am having trouble getting myself motivated to do much of anything these days. I have been unemployed for 2 years now thanks to this lovely recession and that is not without putting an average of 10-15 resumes out every week. For a little while this summer I did a boot camp 1 day a week and lost a little weight, but since coming back from a family vacation (3 weeks ago), I haven't gone back. I was also getting into going to a pumping iron class 2x a week and a spin class 2x a week. I have yet to really do any "formal" training for my half marathon and am starting to panic. One of these half marathons I would love to be able to run more than walk! I am open to any suggestions for motivation and workouts!! Let me know what you think!

Thanks and hope everyone is having a great day!!!

P.S. I am also very, very new to doing forums and would appreciate any advice on navigating!

AWelcome to the forum! I lost my dad to leukemia, so I applaud you on your efforts to help. That's awesome of you! As for the site....I would suggest checking out the "sticky" threads at the top of all the sections in the forum, there is a lot of good info in them. I'd also suggest starting a diary in the diary section. They're great for motivation, accountability and getting to know the other members of the forum. Good luck to you! :)
