Soreness...

Hi folks ! :)

I started training again, 3 months ago.

One thing I've noticed is I don't get as sore as I did a few years ago when I was really into bodybuilding. I can go heavy/few reps or light/many reps and still I'll only be sore for a day. Should I even worry about this? It kinda feels like I didn't work out too hard, even though I did.

I've noticed strength & tone improvements, and I've lost 16 lbs of fat as well, so I know I'm getting somewhere.

No, soreness doesn't really tell you if your workouts are good, results do. Really the only way to tell if you're doing things right is to keep doing them and see if you get results. Sucks yeah cuz you could be doing a routine for a year and finally realize it's doing nothing for you. But, that's the way it goes.

Bodybuilding typically gets you more sore than other workouts because bodybuilding requires muscle failure and beyond to promote growth. So yeah, that's just a little explanation of why you might be feeling different results.

Biggie is wrong. Soreness is the biggest thing that tells you what your doing. You should try to keep soreness to a minimum in workouts BUT not overdoit. As the goal is not to get sore but just work your muscles. If your not getting sore EVER your simply resting to long b/w sets or not using enough weight. I can assure you their are ways to get really sore.

Soreness (DOMS) is nothing to worry about. I usually get sore when i go really heavy or try a different excercise. You don't need to get sore to see results but personally i like DOMS it reminds you of a good workout.

Train hard and heavy. But train smart.
