Sore Joints

I have been working out pretty hard for the past 2 months. I do an upper lower split, and HIIT on the off days with one no workout day.

Looks like this Upper / HIIT / Lower / HIIT / Upper / HIIT / Off / Lower / HIIT / Upper / HIIT / ...... you get the picture.

My problem is my Joints are KILLING me. My wrists, ankles and knee's in particular.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to relieve this pain? Its not excrucuiating. It's just enough to make me want to blow off workouts. I hav not gotten to that point yet... but it's on the horizon......

I have not really tried anything yet, so I'm open to suggestions.

You can take any basic NSAID like Ibuprofen or Aleve. However any chronic use of any drug has its side effects.

How old are you? Do you have a history of playing competitive sports??

I myself was a competitive gymnast for 13 years and have very bad joint pain anytime I work out. My shoulders and back are shot but I do what I can and listen to my body at all times.

You can also try Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM which has mixed feelings by the medical field. It really works for some people. However know that you won't see signs of improvement until a good couple months of taking it.

If you have only been working out for 2 months then you should take it easy. working out 6days a week is hard work, and your not giving your body time to recover. Take a whole week off and see if its any better then try.

UPPER/HIIT/OFF/LOWER/ HIIT/ OFF - OR - UPPER/HIIT/LOWER/HIIT/ OFF

I went through the same thing, and started useing lubri-flex, man within 15 days my pains and poping joints went away.. I ran out of lubri-flex and went to Glucosamine pills I bought at CostCo (cheap)... I am back where I started, gave the Glucosamine away and am back on lubri-flex...

haha posted up a similar thread, " is working out everyday bad for you" and i know not working out for a person who worked out for 2month 6days a week would feel like a mash potato. when u take a shower, switch between cold to hot, 3 rotation for about a minute or 2 for each. that helps recover muscle very effectively. also how and cold cream helps my lower back and shoulder joints.

I'm 33 years old and I was involved with Football, Track, Baseball, Wrestling, and up until 3 years ago played in a weekend Softball league. (Now have a daughter that occupies a lot of my free time).

Ibuprophen does help, but my understanding is that ibuprophen is not meant to be a long term med.

I was looking more toward a natural remedy.

I'll try the fish oil caps and the hot cold treatments and use the ibuprophen for times when the pain is extreme.

I'll have to look into lubri-flex, I've never heard of it.

And a week off is not an option at this point. For me, a week off will turn into a month off, and before you know it, I'll be introducing myself again on the new member thread with another post like "on again, off again" lol
