Sore forearms for like a month now.

So i have had this pain in my forearms for a while now...on my left arm it started a little bit less painful then my right and has healed a little better then my right as well. It hurts when i do normal curls but hammer curls its fine. I can go like 75% of the way up and then any further and bang it pulls like a muscle in there or something? I am not sure what i have done to make this happen in both arms and I haven't been able to train them properly because of it for ages :(

there is a kinda crappy picture of where it hurts and if i press any where around where my fingers are in specific areas quite deep into the arm it sets of some serious pain. if it doesent go away in a week or two i am gonna get it checked out along with some other things.

What do you think it could be or what caused it?

if it only hurts when you poke into it deep, stop poking into it so deep. does it hurt when are justy going about your business regularly? Or only when you poke into it?

sounds like what I have. Is it deep in like right at the bone, and it feels REALLY sore to touch it? I get this from doing renegade rows..

I had basically the same thing, but a little higher up on the forearm, to the bone like you said. I worked through it by stretching my forearms between every upper body set. It helped a lot.

Nah Flying free it hurts also when i do full range of motion curls with dumbells or barbells...the heavier the weight the worse the pain tho. and yeah its rather deep in in the side...its almost like a really sore funny bone feeling?

According to scientific research data, sore intermuscular septa's are created through "repeated" and "continuous movement" of an "up and down motion" (or beating a personal connected object far too often without proper rest):

The antibrachial fascia continues above with the brachial fascia, and is a dense, membranous investment, which forms a general sheath for the muscles in this region; it is attached, behind, the olecranon and dorsal border of the ulna, and blended within its deep surface are numerous intermuscular septa, which enclose each muscle separately.---->However, the Flexor tendons (which come from simuliar regions) and approach the wrist are especially thickened with "up and down swing of the hand", and can cause pain in the area you mentioned.

Treatment: Refrain from this repeated and continuous up and down movement on an upright personal object, and proper recuperation and rest.

Best regards! :)

Plain and simple its tendinitis. I had the exact same thing and read up on it. You get it because your lifting something with you biceps thats too heavy for your forearms. Doctors will just tell you to stop exercises that cause it un till its better but that doesnt really help because when you start and its just going to reoccur. You need to work your forearm muscles to counteract it and just do compound exercises that work bicep until its all good.

Im a fitness noob this is just info ive got from reading around the place.

TimKingsford has hit the nail on the head. I had this a few years ago and when i asked a doc he said just to rest it. So i stopped working out for a few months and when i got back into it the pain was gone and hasn't returned.

Hope it gets better mate.

Well, without seeing it better, it certainly could be tendinitis and I, unfortunately, am quite familiar with it. The only true treatment is rest, ice, ibuprofen.

Rest - laying off any exercise that aggravates that tendon. Fortunately, tendons are living tissue and do heal but not if they are continually aggravated.

Ice - ice that sucker down as much as you can.

Ibuprofen - Others will disagree on this, but I stand firmly behind the NSAID ibuprofen in treating myself with tendinitis. I am sure there are drawbacks to ibuprofen as there are to all medications, but it does work for me and is a standard treatment protocol.

Stretching - now and when you resume working those muscles

Bit isn't ibuprofen a defamatory? By what i read tendinitis dosnt have anything to do with swelling?

Yes, Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Advil and some others, but not Tylenol, is an anti-inflammatory drug. And, yes, tendinitis is inflammation (swelling) of a tendon.

My god!!!!!! how do u do those rows. I tried them yesterday and i lack the stability and abb strength to do them. my hat is off to ya!

i realize this conversation happened years ago, but my forearm pain is new and not felt during pulling movements such as listed by all others. It is excruciating following pressing movements for chest and shoulders. Heavy pain immediately following approximately set #8 throughout the remainder of my pressing. Pain subsides about one hr following workout but remains tender to the touch for a few days. been going heavy for about 20 wks. moving to more shaping movements for about 12 wks. hoping for some recovery
