The fact that i look like Im still pregnant.. I will go into the stores in town and people will ask me 'whens the baby coming'? It breaks my heart.. I know part of it is still my swollen uterus, but there is a lot more hanging down there that really needs to go.. I've lost 15 lbs since I had her 10 days ago *she was 7lbs 4oz, so really I havent lost that much* .. I just have a lot more confidence in getting this weight off faster because I only gained 25 compared to the 50 I gained with my first (though I did end up at the same weight 175# because I was heavier to begin with this time around).. My question is, is there anything besides walking I can do to exercise? I know the crunches are still off limits..Has anyone found drinking water to really help? I know it kind of sounds like I am rushing into this, but I need to fit into something besides my 3 t-shirts and maternity jeans!! :(

Sorry hun, I know what you are going through, i've had 2 babies.

As far as your current size goes, you absolutly will loose weight still just w/ having had a baby. Your uterus is still very big, so it will take time. Thats something people struggle w/ in weight loss is the fact that it DOES take sometimes alot of time to loose it. BUT as long as you are loosing and not gaining weight, thats a great thing! Even if its 1 pd a wk!

I know you don't want to hear this either, but walking really is the best excersize. Any dct will tell you that. THere is other stuff you can do, but like you said its off limits to you right now, and really, walking is the best. Maybe if your getting bored, get a walman or something. If you don't think you'r getting a good workout, try to walk faster, or longer.

Oh, and water is great!! The more you drink it, the more you want to drink it. It gets almost addictive!

You can do it hun, just remember, all good things take time!

Increase your activity level. If you can sit instead of laying in bed, do it. If you can stand up, instead of sitting, do it. If you can walk around, instead of just standing, do it. Find ways to move more.

But be reasonable, of course. You don't want to hurt yourself. And take Fish Oil caps, they are good for you in general and good for fat loss.

Good luck!

Nurse! Nurse! Nurse!

Girl, you need to be nursing your baby!! (If you can!)
You can burn 500 calories per day by nursing! Every 7 days you can lose one pound by that alone!
Congrats on your baby! I walked with the stroller a lot it was nice...I gained only 25 pounds with my second baby it was my eating habits AFTER the baby was born that did it for me. I would snack on whatever they ate (I have a one and a two year old) I would eat late at night after everyone was asleep.... also helped me gain some weight and then after watching them all day I was too tired to exercise. It's so easy to do. But you seem so motivated already so just go walking.... you will have more choices of excercising soon!!!
I didn't nurse with my second baby as much as I did with the first and it made a huge difference on how fast the weight came off.
Hang in there and like the others said.... move as much as you can...:D
Don't wait as long as I did to try to lose the weight. Remember, you will have more choices in a few more weeks!

Thanks soo much for the motivation girls!! I do nurse Ryleigh (constantly).. So thats that! But it's been a week and Im still stuck at 160.. Ive been down to 159, but it goes back up.. I really need to get out and walk.. The girls got their bath last nite so today is the day!!

Thanks again soo much!! I will have to get some of those fish oil tablets!!

First- Congratulations!! Ryleigh is a beautiful name!!

Second- it's way too soon to be so worried about weight loss. I know it's tough, but you just had a brand new baby, enjoy her an don't worry about anything else yet. Give your body at least 6 weeks to recover before even thinking about the exercise. You don't want to harm yourself or set back your recovery.

yay BFing Mamas ROCK!!!!

I have a 4.5 month old daughter that nurses like a champ. I weighed 260 when I went in to the hospital to have her (if not a little more) and I am down to 213 now. 175 is my ideal weight.

My only problem is that all of it.. Is in front in my tummy.. If I was 160 spread out all over the place, that'd be different.. But I am SURE I shouldnt still look soo pregnant.. I never did with my first daughter and I gained twice the amount of weight with her as I did with this one!
