Something healthy w/ Lean Minced Beef

I have 250g of lean minced beef that i need to cook today, does anybody know a good simple recipe?? I can make spag bol, but that would involve pasta and i'm trying to increase my protein intake and lower the carbs slightly, and pasta is one of the highest levels of carbs right??

So if anybody knows a good recipe, as i can get quite a lot of protein from the minced beef, but want a lower level of carbs than what i would get from the pasta.

Is Ragu sauce full of "crap" that isn't good for you too???

I use tomato paste and water instead of any pre-made pasta sauce. Add your own spices and some water and it tastes the same. As for non-pasta stuff, I made something a couple days ago throwing in mushrooms, onions, a can of chickpeas (lots of fibre and other good stuff) and/or anything else lying around. Add a bunch of spices for whatever taste you want. This can be like a chili (eaten straight), or you can cook up some kind of grain, like quinoa, which also has protein and is really healthy for you.

you used the same pasta sauce to make that chilli?

Hollow out a large cooking tomatoe.

Chop up one half onion.

Chop up one half apple.

Add to mince/ground beef..

Stuff tomatoe with mince and bake.

Hmmm...

That sounds pretty tasty, yum.

I'm assuming you should fully brown the mince before putting it into the tomatoe and baking it?? Shouldn' take long to bake the tomatoe if the mine, onion, and apple have already been cooked together in a pan????

Yes brown the rice, forgot that bit :D

I just bang the chopped onion into a frying pan with no oil for about 2 minutes.

I don't do anything with the apple just dice it and bang that in as well.

'Bang it in' is a French culinary term by the way ;)

Cook some spaghetti squash then cut it in half and sccop out the strands. Take some ground beef and brown it with some garlic, onion and other preferred seasonings, dump some home made sauce into it and pour ofer the squash. Quick and easy and VERY healthy pasta with meat sauce.

Mix it with seasonings and a little egg to hold it together and bake it to make a yummy meatloaf.

Season it and stuff it in a big bell pepper and broil, grill or cook in sauce.....the possibilites are endless.
