Good morning!

I've been dieting for at least 6 weeks now, if not more.. and I'm hardly seeing results. I started at 165 (May 2nd) and today I'm ..... 165 (June 13th..). I weigh myself everyday and the past 2 Mondays I've been 163, but as soon as Tuesday and the rest of the week hits I'm back to 165.
I intake roughly 1500 calories, I'm 5ft 2. I don't know whether I'm not eating enough calories, or too many.. I haven't eaten any "crap" in those 6 weeks, lots of fruit and protein shakes each day. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a strict "must eat this" each day, but I don't eat the crap I used too and watch the sugar and fat content of everything. I've been doing squats for maybe 3/4 weeks, daily - reached 100 a day and changed to adding in weights so now I'm doing 50 with 2.3lb weights in each hand.
I've recently taken up swimming and a gym class (HIIT 45 minute session) - once a week for each. But I only started that next week. I understand that may (will??) make a difference, but I'm concerned about why I've seen no change in 6 weeks regardless, and why Mondays show 2lb less than the rest of the week? I wouldn't worry if Mondays showed 2lb less each time.. i.e. 163, 161 as I'd just see the rest as fluctuations and use Mondays as my weigh day.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I don't know where I'm going wrong!!

Thanks
Jenny

Hey Jenny,
Check out this video "This is why you eat so much"
It lists some of the weird reasons why we overeat not even realising that we do... how the food industry fools us to eat more so they can earn more money for themselves, and how our brain tricks us to wanting more food and eat impulsively. Hope that helps.

Just a thought, maybe with the protein shakes and excersise with weights that maybe your building and toning up your muscles which weigh more than fat.

Hi my friend with new exercise routines especially weight lifting/hard core leg workouts can cause swelling.. you may be experiencing this from the microscopic damage.. you can also gain muscle under fat tissue.. which will increase your weight if not participating in enough cardio.. try not to focus so much on your weight.. weight can be deceiving .. as muscle weighs more than fat tissue.. it sounds as if your on track.. good job‼️.. drink more fluids.. eat more often to keep your muscle mass up = active tissues.. need to be fed... or the body will see it as a stress..&.. eliminate it.. replacing it with fat mass.. do not let blood sugar levels drop.. signs of this = fatigue... shaking ... weakness... brain fog.. confusion.. watch for the signs... if the blood sugar levels drop.. cortisol will be released.. and will break down that muscle that is not able to be fed and turn it into ketone bodies to well.. eventually mimic glucose .. to feed the body = it is a survival mechanism
