I'll be blunt:
You're setting yourself up for failure before you even start. I don't envision you being an elderly woman. You have a lot of years left to life. And guess what?
If you're going to reach your goal weight and maintain it, it's going to take effort in all those years.
This is an ongoing, never-ending process.
You''re carrying around excess fat right now b/c of choices and behaviors you've adopted over the years.
To lose the weight and keep it off, you have to make different choices and do different things until the weight comes off. And once it's off, you have to keep doing those things if it's going to stay off.
Diets don't fail people. People fail diets. They don't see it as a lifetime commitment.
But what are you really committing too? Too many people see nothing but pain regarding the commitment. As if this lifestyle is shackling them to nothing but pain and deprivation.
Truth be told, it will be painful and depriving if you do things to the extreme.
As in, attempt to lose 20 lbs per month, which is never going to work.
My suggestion to you is, change the way you're perceiving all of this. Really spend some time asking yourself why you want this and what it will mean to you to obtain your goals. Also spend some time reading through the stickie threads on this forum. Start with this
one. Once you understand things a bit better, I think you'll see how irrational you're current worries and viewpoints are regarding fat loss.
And a very simple yet profound ideal is:
You can't finish something you don't start. Here you are worrying about how long something will take before you even start it. Said something is for life, so who cares how long it takes. It's worth pursuing, trust me. You'll learn as you go.
