As I was reading through some of the newb postings, I saw posts not dis-similar to my own past ideologies...get back into exercise and eating healthy, shed a few-20-30 lbs, hit some form of a roadblock whether it be via plateau or some other form of life 'getting in the way' and then gain weight and start the process all over again.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I need to make this healty lifestyle a part of a daily regimen, just like brushing my teeth, showering or putting on my face
...although I don't wear make up daily. .hmm. so I guess there are still going to be some kinks and things that pop up.
I have never really been one to choose the trendy diets of the years, but try to take an approach of low fat, low cal and exercise, however, it hasn't seemed to stick. I guess it's just as well that I don't have any children since I am not the best role model as far as healthy eating and fitness are concerned. I'm hoping this is the time to change things around.
I'm really interested in 5K runs and have thought about (yes that's as far as I have really made it) signing up for one in the coming months in hopes that that too will be some more inspiration to get fit and healthy. I will be heading out to a cabin hopefully for some snow skiing, and hitting an indoor pool & hot tub with 2 other couples the 1st of March and am hoping to reach my first goal or even surpass it by that time.
Any words of encouragement or wisdom etc would greatly be appreciated.
