Some Assistance peeps

Hi Guys,

was just after some info or advise if anyone can advise

basically i am doing cardio mon - fri for about 40mins to 1 hr a day

prior to this i was a big guy and had little knowledge about training diet etc so i went to the gym for 2 years and just done weights converting most fat to muscle im still a big guy but more shape :D

now im trying to cut off all the fat!! its going well but i dont wanna lose my muscle

so far i have lost a bit of strength and i dont really wanna lose any more if i can help it, if i do 1 day of power lifting do you think this would help my muscles retain their size while i shrink?

Hi,
I've got a lot of info on my website that you should have a look at.
But if you're running and doing cardio so much and not doing weights training, you will lose quite a bit of muscle, you should defaintely incorporate both.
Possibly a endurance muscular training program would be good.

It sounds like you're looking to "cut". I'd check around the forum for the stickies about "cutting" (ie. losing fat while maintaining your muscle). There's tons of information.

Hi again Nate,
I'm not sure whether you looked at my website or not. But there are four main type of weights or resistance training. Muscular Hypertrophy training, Muscular Strength Training, Muscular Power training and Muscular Endurance training. The main differences between them being the set and rep range which means you would achieve different results from each type of training depending on what you're after.
So as you said, your doing cardio a lot, so incorporate some weights training, it will allow you to build and or retain muscle and in the case of muscular endurance training actually help increase the endurance in your muscles which will greatly help in your cardio output. As I said, Ive got some more info on my site. Hope it helps.
