Hey everybody whats up?!
Alright,
I came across this site and read some of the stickies and decided to introduce myself, what I do, how I workout (although it is in no way the best way), and I'm looking to get some tips.
I've recently (last few months) become interested in a healthy diet and more healthy exercise.. along with getting my body they way I would like it.
So I'll begin with some of my good (hopefully) and bad habits and a short introduction of myself.
I'm 19 (166 lbs 5'9) and I'm in the United States Army and I'm in decent shape (I think).
I've been working on finding a decent diet but I think I'm in trouble since I have quite literally no way to cook food, everything I eat has to be microwavable or able to be eaten straight out of the box. I drink tea, water, and occasionally gatorade. As for food it's mostly grilled chicken salads from burger king (no fat ranch/no croutons), ready-rice, and sandwiches that are made with whole wheat, sliced chicken/turkey, no-fat cheese, and lettuce. I recently started using thermo-cla as a supplement to my diet to see if it would help me burn more fat but I'm not really sure how good of an idea that is, or if it will even help (not work, obviously that crap would never work by itself).
My usual work-out has been running in the range of 30-60 min 4-6.5 miles and usually switching off with a bike machine for around 30-60 min as well (switching every other day). Doing push-ups and crunches, I do understand that I need to begin doing weight training to increase my metabolism and make sure I only burn fat and the rest of the junk my body doesn't need.
So that is the rundown, I'm hoping to be able to help people with advice from my own personal experiences (when applicable and when I actually might know what I'm talking about) and hopefully get some good tips on my dieting and a few suggestions on exercises to include in my workout. This is something I'm doing to make me a over all healthier, happier person and I appreciate all the help I can get, as always.
Thanks!
