So I'm needing a little advice for a training diet

I've always been in good shape, but I'd really like to get my abs back that I once had.

Problem is that I'm 240 and live in the gym. This is a problem because I require a lot of food or else I get the shakes by 3pm. What kinds of things do you guys eat to keep you filled up and the furnace burning calories throughout the day.

I look at those weight loss books that are supposedly #1 best sellers, but they seem more like starvation regimens than true healthy eating. One I looked at said to eat no more than 4oz of protein! That's rediculous.

What is you age, height, how long have you been training, what does your routine look like?

In general for rapid fat loss you must eat a caloric deficit. Figure out your daily caloric requirements and consume 200-500 less calories per day for rapid fat loss. Otherwise you can loose fat and build muscle, although relatively slowly, by consuming a very clean diet of your daily caloric requirement. Try eating only protein sources (meat, eggs, nuts, dairy) and fruits and vegetables; NO starchy and and NO processed foods. Drink plenty of water and divide your calorie needs into at least 6 small meals a day.

Check out the nutritional stickies on this site or search the web for formulas for calculating caloric requirements.

Going to check them out. I've tweaked my diet a little more the last week or so and can already see a difference. Hopefully I can keep full though.
