So i need to loose like 100 pounds lol

What is strange about it is that every time some one tries to guess my weight I always get 200-220. I carry my weight VERY well. I dont look fat at all. it all goes to my stomach and chest. Every other port of my looks just like a normal persons body would. BUT I have man tits that put 40% of the girls at my school to shame. But I was recently in a cast for 4 months (still am. I am not going to be able to run for 4 weeks. But i can use a stationary bike) I went in 270 and now I'm 290:drooling1:

The reason I came up with 100 pounds is because I just want to be at a decent weight for one time in my life, and joining the Marines (or Army im really not sure yet) is something I have always wanted. Im a very big guy in general, big bones lol. At my weight now I dont think im going to be able to run with out hurting myself. Because even at 270 I had knee problems.

ideas? I want to do the whole thing, pills, work out, all that. Im going to be getting a gym membership as well.

Ah the Marines. I wanted to join, but couldn't since I have horrible hearing. Still talking and I think I might be able to have a chance if my hearing problem can be corrected by surgery. But I don't know if I want to go through such drastic changes just to join the service, although I feel I could be missing something.

Anyway, once you are accepted into the Marines, you stay in for life. It is nearly impossible to get kicked out even if you refuse to do the exercises.

Basically, to avoid going to PCP (Physical Conditioning Platoon), you must pass this Initial Strength Test which contains 2 dead hang pull ups, 44 crunches in 2 minutes, and a 1.5 miles run in 13.5 minutes. If you don't pass, you go to the Conditioning Platoon where you will stay until you can perform the above.

They do have weight standards for height. You must fall within the range or get a body fat % count to pass. Otherwise, they won't accept you at MEPs.

Hope that helps you out some what.

I feel your pain, brotha! I began my weight loss journey about 5 months ago at 270, and am down to 223. By the time I get down to my goal weight of 150-160, I'll have lost 110-120 pounds--it's a bit overwhelming to look at it that way. It's most important to remember that you didn't put the weight on overnight, so you won't be able to take it off overnight. However, with hard work and self-discipline, it WILL come off!

If I were you, I would start with whatever physical activity your doctor recommends as being safe, given your injury. Take your time--re-injuring yourself will only delay the process longer. Most importantly, your diet needs to be looked at and corrected. Even when your body is fully healed from the injury, you will only be able to really lose the weight with the correct diet.

Do LOTS of reading on this forum--there is a wealth of information here about where and how to get started. Focus on the diet--really, it's so important, and is the difference between THIS TIME being a successful venture or a failure. YOU CAN DO IT!

One more thing: lose the "pills" idea--it really isn't the way to go. Successful weight loss comes from re-learning the proper way to care for your body--through proper diet and physical activity. You have to examine the things that cause you to eat in the first place, and examine the reasons WHY you eat. You need to learn the difference between when you are actually HUNGRY and when you just feel like eating. A PILL cannot teach you those lessons--you just gotta go through it to get through it!

Good luck! Feel free to call on me or the forum for support and advice!

hey mann. Im 17 stone (242 pounds) im wanting to get to 13 stone but im also lifting weigths. I want to build my arms but loose weigth on my stomache to. Can anyone help me or PM me as I want to build on the arms but loose on the stomache.

To Help You: I find that loosing weight for me is easyier if I eat big meals and dont snack as much because if I snack I end up eating more than I shoulld but with full meals I dont want ot eat between.

the number 1 thing you want to correct is diet, I was in the same boat you were 3 years ago I started at 280lb and now Im 180 so i just wanted to let you know it can be done if I can do it you can to and trust me, I love food and I still eat 5/6 times a day I just eat healthy, to tell you the truth the first 30-40lbs I lost was real easy. All i did was stop drinking pop and only drank water then I got a little more picky on food but for the most part I think I lost the weight pretty easily. even when i was overweight though I was still very active so that probably helped a bit, unfortunately my trouble came with the last 10lbs and im still workin with it (trust me by the time you lose the weight you'll get more picky, ie my dream was to be able to have a six pack and im still workin on it, set a goal and keep to it, the one thing I found most important in my weight loss journey was calorie deficit. I still find it funny though that I eat waymore now than i ever did before!!!

One that that sucks is that my family is kind of poor. We already cant get much food in the house. So what every they bring home I eat. Its that or starve. That whats they tell me. Im sure when I start working out again they will buy good stuff again, i hope. I only eat 1-2 times a day. some time just off top ramen. and serial.

Pills will only waste your money--save that money and buy yourself some good food!

No one forces you to eat junk food--it is difficult to discipline yourself to stay away from that stuff and eat the "good for you" food. You can do it though!

I would eat what they bring, but suggest less fried food. Grilled usually costs the same and will save you a lot of space in your nutritional budget.

What sort of food your parents bring home? Is it usually fast food? I'm assuming it is. I recommend getting a job yourself and supporting your own food habit. A lot of families assume that fast food saves them money when in reality it doesn't and also it is nutritionally poor but gives a lot of extra, unneeded calories. You can find and make many good things yourself. Once you eat home made food, you'll find that you'll have a lot more energy. Be sure to eat constantly, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the min. As other stated there are a lot of good threads going about good, nutritional food if you're having trouble making one for youself. It doesn't have to be 100% healthy 100% of the time, but you can bet that it's a lot better than eating fast food all the time.

I wish you good luck. Do come back often with progress.

Thats when you have a family that can buy food. Its sad when your family is just happy to eat.

Not so much fast food but more like just anything at the store that is cheap. So they dont have a set buy list, ever.

It's definitely hard to control WHAT you eat when someone else is buying the groceries. I do understand eating on a budget--I am not made of money and have to stretch the food budget, too.

What you do have control over, though, is the VOLUME of food that you eat. If you can get that under control, you will be on your way!

Also, you should note that if you plan to join the Marines, they do have a swimming week during training. So you should at least learn the basics of swimming so you can be prepared. Good luck. And do come back with your progress.

Good to hear you want to make changes.

Interestingly enough, we have similar goals - after my weight loss I was interested in joining the army.

I also wanted to comment on what you said about your knee hurting. I have a bad knee (It subluxed when I used to wrestle) and I would always get stiffness and soreness when I was at my original weight of 245+. Now I'm at 211 and my knee feels much, much better. I can do leg exercises without pain, and I can walk (and sometimes run) without difficulty. Just keep in mind a lot of the things holding you back from losing weight actually become easier AS you lose weight. In essence, it becomes easier with time.

Good luck, keep us posted

What did you do for cardio?

OR......spend the money on buying yourself the most beautiful hooker you can find....THEN get determined to score that kind of hottie without paying for it!:yelrotflmao::rofl:

I'm sorry, I have an obnoxious reputation to uphold and the opportunity all too well presented itself.

But seriously dude.....EVERYTHING will fall into place once you lose weight. Your bloodwork will improve, your knees won't hurt and with each pound you lose it'll become easier & easier to lose weight and get fit.

Let me explain something...right now you're carrying a lot of abdominal fat. Those fat cells are swollen and not in good shape. When you eat food, the food is largely converted into glucose and your blood-sugar level goes up....in response, your pancreas releases insulin and the insulin ushers the glucose into your fat-cells...BUT your fat cells are swollen and you're likely, at this point, what they call insulin-resistant (aka pre-diabetes). Your pancreas releases more insulin, the sugar-level abruptly drops and your body responds by again telling you you're hungry. IT'S A VISCIOUS CYCLE.

It's hard at first...you're not used to being hungry and your determination will only carry you so far....but if you can stick with it and get through the first couple months...you'll find each week is easier and easiwer, and then people will start noticing, clothes will fit looser and the momentum will build.

You can do this...if it's truly your time and your will, you can do this. I promise you this...if you do, I'll bet you'll agree it's the best thing you ever did. :D

its funny cuz this is me at 270
