I am a newbie!! I am planning my wedding for May 2010 and I am determined to lose this weight, I am at 225lbs I want to be 175 if not smaller... Any ideas on diet and motivation tips would be helpful!! Thanks!
 
Welcome to the forums LilySky! I'm really glad you found this site. Congrats on the wedding, and the first steps to a healthier you. It's all about calories consumed vs calories burned. I would suggest looking up how many calories you should be eating, here's a site I like: . It will tell you how many calories you should be eating to maintain your current weight.

To lose weight, you need to eat 500-1,000 calories less than what you burn each day. For example if you burn 2,500 calories per day, you'll need to eat between 1,500 and 2,000 calories to lose any weight. If you don't want to lower your calorie intake, you can increase the amount of calories you burn by exercising more.
