hey everyone

i've never done this before, so im kind of nervous. i just got back from meeting with a nutritionist at my school and after 4 weeks of trying to change my diet... i gained 2.5 lbs! i just feel like a failure...i cant control anything in my life. my roommates eat anything they want and they are so skinny. they tease me for eating "healthfully" but it cant be too healthy if i gained weight, can it?
my family (both sides) has a long history of diabetes, so im trying to lose weight and have a healthy diet as a preventative measure. im just so stressed out about so many things in my life, and im so frustrated, and hearing that im just as fat (if not fatter) than ive always been hurt today :( i dont want to be really really really skinny, i just want to look good and be healthy :(
maybe i can use this forum to get some support and give me something to do other than snacking.

Welcome to the forum, letsdothis. You have come to the right place. There is lots of information and support here for you. I know what you mean about people bugging you about eating healthy. Don't let this sabotage what YOU want to do. You have to do this for you- not them. Once you start eating right and exercising and you start losing weight and seeing results then you will feel better about yourself and worry less about what other people may or may not say. This isn't about what other people think- this is about what you want for yourself. Weight loss is not some secret. It all boils down to calories in< calories out. Plain and simple you have to burn more calories than you eat. Exercise helps with the burning of the calories and toning. You determine what you put in your mouth. Good luck on your journey- I know you can do this!!

Hey, you are trying to take control of your life, Right! How is that a failure?
Start out my cutting down on the foods you eat, "Not Out". Gradually get rid of the junk, replacing it with an healthy snack! Use portion sizes, drink more water. Get plenty of exercise. Stay with a plan, the weight will come off!

Good luck to you!!!! Hugs
