'Ello. I'm not entirely sure why I'm posting here, but I've read some pretty inspiring stories after stumbling across this place per chance (courtesy of Google). I was a hefty kiddy about 10 years ago, due to a combination of diabolical eating habbits and immeasurably low activity levels. As I grew into my late teens, I decided it was high time I paid my body a bit of respect. I cut out a lot of the junk food and started exercising regularly (badminton/table tennis/jogging). It wasn't a "diet" by any means, more of a lifestyle change. I'm now 5'8, weighing in at around 11 stone (154 pounds). Even though I'm happy with my current weight, I do want to lose around another 14 pounds and tone up a bit. Working an office job, the pounds do have a habbit of creeping up on you.
I'm not a fan of fad diets, "weight watchers", calorie counting and all that malarky. I believe in eating less (or more of the right stuff) and exercising more. A generous dose of good old fashioned will power also helps. Obsessing over weight itself is a dangerous thing, however it can provide a good measure of progress - so long as your goals are achievable, and you're not hopping on the scales every morning.
That's about it. If I've missed anything, just ask. Oh, I'm male and 21 years of age.
