Smaller thighs and calves

Im an 18yrs old college student. I love to run and have started doing aerobic exercises. But my problem is that i have muscular thighs and calves bigger than i would want. I am 5'0 and I don't want to stop working out..but seeing what it has done to my lower body..get my kind of upset! :( what can i do or change to loose some muscle from my thighs and calves in a healthy way (if there is such way) please!! any advice will help:eek:
~Thanks

Hmm...I used to think that my legs were too "muscular" but the truth was that I had a layer of fat over the top. When I lost that fat my legs looked great...I was surprised they looked that good because I always thought I was destined to have huge legs! I also worked at balancing out my upper body by weight training so my upper body matches my lower body.

I think if you kept doing endurance cardio for long periods of time (like LONG runs) that would burn some of your muscle off your legs.

I don't know why you'd want to lose that hard earned muscle though :)

i love running aswell, and my thighs used to look to muscular for my liking but if you do warm up exercises and exercises after runnig you legs wont get so muscular but will stay toned

I kinda have the same problem as you... :( I love to run but I'm scared that more muscle will build up and my calves will be bigger! And I can't seem to get fat off my thighs either!
And somehow, sometimes, my calves look really nice....but sometimes they look really big and ugly. Why are they always different?

hey capri,
i'm 19 and a college student as well, and short, too! i was a gymnast for a loonnng time so i know all about (too) muscular thighs, but have since slimmed them down a LOT. the number one piece of advice i can give you is to STRETCH. stretch a LOT, both before and after you run. this will lengthen and slim your muscles (which is why yoga and pilates is so famous for making your longer/leaner) and will keep your legs from bulking up.
