Slouching and improving posture

I used to spend a ton of time on the computer (and I still spend a nominal amount of time on it, including 15-20 hrs/week at work on it), and my posture isn't all too great. I slouch a little.. my shoulders incline down a bit. What I want to shoot for is broad shoulders and a more horizontally straight shoulders. I can adjust my posture by standing more straight up, but it's not completely natural.

My question is.. can I change? If I concentrate on shoulder/deltoid/upper back exercises, will I be able to notice a difference? The slouch isn't very bad, but it's noticeable.

Thanks guys.
Dan

you can try and focus on building your rear delts, upper back, and your core (abs, lower back, sides). Those are the main areas as far as bad posture is concerned. Also, you have to make a concious effort to stand tall and walk with a little bit of pride. The more you do it, the more natural it becomes.

I wrote an article on shoulder health for Mind&Muscle mag...although it's fairly technical, I included a specialty routine at the end...take a look:

Hey Bip, isn't posterior pelvic tilt common in people with internally rotated shoulders?
It often can be: think about the entire kinesthetic chain...weakness or deviation will cause all kinds of imbalances up and down the chain to compensate, and a posterior tilt would make a lot of sense when you look at the change in COG caused by the bad posture of internally rotated shoulders.
