Consistency is what gets results - if you eat "moderately" for 5 days then binge on days 6 and 7 you are undoing the work you did on the first 5 days.

What is your current height and why are you so focused on a specific number?

How many calories a day are you taking in? and what are you currently doing for exercise?

i am 5 ft 3 and i eat around 600 calories a day! i dont eat alot and when i go the gym i burn around 200-300 in a 45 minute session and i go 3 times week!
I dont eat unhealthy foods i want to be 120 pounds so i got 15 to loose.

600 calories a day isn't good for your body... your body needs more than to just survive...

if you search on Harris benedict formula, you'll get a number for your bmr -that's the amount of calories your body needs to do it's basic functions if you were to never get out of bed -- for your age, weight and gender that number is about 1400...

If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

That would put you at about 1900 calories to maintain your current weight - drop 500 calories a day off that and you're at 1400 calories a day

Now there's no hard and fast rule -every body is different but adding in the gym 3x a week - the 600 calories a day you're taking in -isn't healthy long term.. or even short term...

I would strongly urge you to up your calories - not in one day, but over a period of time so that you are closer to a reasonable range -then you should see the weight come off

but i cant, because it makes me feel unhealthy that i am eating so much! makes me feel sick and disgusting!

Usually i eat

Breakfast - Shredded wheat with milk
Lunch i have a sandwhich at work ( with quavers 118 cals)
Then i get home and either have fish cakes with chips
or gammon and pineapple
with a yogurt

thats mainly wt i eat

and then i binge and eat chocolate now and again!

How are you getting to 600 calories with what you're eating - are you keeping track of those calories in any type of program like

why do u think that is more then 600 calories? i dont like fitday because it says a burn 2000 calories before i actually do anything!
it cant be correct?

I think your problem is the fact that you don't get enough calories. You are giving your body so much less than it needs, so it thinks you are trying to starve it. I bet your metabolism got really slow because of it. You will eventually lose the weight, but it will take longer. And the minute you exercise less, or eat a little more, you'll gain quickly. I also doubt that you are getting all the nutrients you should be getting.

without having portion sizes or specifics

Breakfast - Shredded wheat with milk
- that's probably around 200 calories)
Lunch i have a sandwhich at work ( with quavers 118 cals)
- what's on your sandwich? 2 slices of bread and what else - what type of bread? I'm not sure what a quaver is... is that a side dish?

Then i get home and either have fish cakes with chips or gammon and pineapple
Gammon is a type of ham I believe...
its possible that your supper is coming in under 300 calories but I'd have my doubts

with a yogurt

it'd be better if it were higher amounts of calories...

If you were keeping track of your calories and nutrients - you might fiind your sodium amounts are quite high and that's could be what's causing you to hold onto the weight.

I think you should eat more vegetables, more veggies, make fresh salad, soup and so on...some fresh fruit and whole grains, low fat yogurt...extra-virgin olive oil.
I'll not eat the "fish cakes", but the grilled fish or meat, avoid fried food...

as possible as you can, choose the whole food, - unprocessed and unrefined food, are the best option to be healthy and lose weight.

This don't mean you are forbidden to eat something you want, like a chocolate, but...

It's very important you don't feel hungry.

o god!

see thats even worse i thought i was only eatin 600 and not loosing weight i must be eatin 1000 and still not losing weight

1000 calories is still too few for your current age/height/weight... and that could be a contributing factor as to why you're weight loss isn't coming off...

I agree with Susana... Try adding more vegetables and fruits to your day... preferably whole fruits and not canned in syrup type of fruits...

I know... more than any one, you wish your goal. And for that reason, you should follow the suggestions... At moment you have this reality: your plan doesn't work; you must improve or change your plan.

I know you will have a good results; if you choose the right foods...you could eat more than 1000 cal and lose weigh, more than eat 600 cal.

you don't like the " Fitday"...try another one: (I like the site Fitday)

Like this one:

We have so many...

I'm serious...eat the right food, get the good source of carbs, prot, and fat, make a balance diet, do exercises and you have results.

Weightloss can be challenging! Some people have a hard time losing it than others!

There's this program on TLC called "I can make you thin" and the pretty much sets up a program for all his viewers, giving tons of tips that are very effective!

One of the tips I remember is that when you feel hungry, go eat! :lurk5: Eating when you're hungry will speed up your metabolism. When you starve yourself your body goes into survivor mode and slows down your metabolism which makes you gain weight so much easier!

Lizzi duffie, look this, but in this forum we have this information too.

People who eat healthy, mostly unprocessed foods, including fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes (lentils, dry beans and peas), and limited amounts of lean animal protein (reduced-fat dairy, fish, chicken, and lean cuts of other meats), often find that they can eat as much as they want without gaining weight. If they are switching from a diet containing lots of processed foods, they find that they can eat more yet consume fewer calories -- and they lose weight.

Because natural fruits, vegetables and whole grains are high in complex carbohydrates and fiber, they are absorbed slowly and satisfy our feelings of hunger. Heavily processed foods, on the other hand, are not only low in nutritional value, but they don't make us feel satisfied so we eat more of them. They are made from refined ingredients that are so tasteless they require large amounts of salt, sugar, fat, and high-priced advertising to make them attractive.

Perhaps our biggest nutritional mistake has been turning away from foods in their natural state. We have replaced them with processed foods that have been modified to last longer, be easier to manufacture and distribute, and be more convenient to store and use.

Take apple juice as an example. Even the simple act of removing the pulp to make apple juice detracts from its value for both health and weight loss. A medium size apple contains just 72 calories, and over 3 grams of fiber, while 8 fl oz of apple juice contains 120 calories and no fiber at all. And we're just talking about pure, "healthy" apple juice.

Natural foods are nutritious and contain much of what is good for us, including vitamins and minerals, fiber, the cancer-fighting antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables, and the sustained energy provided by whole grains and complex carbohydrates. They reduce our risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Because of their nutrient and fiber content, natural foods are healthy for us and help keep us slim.

Heavily processed foods are substantially less nutritious and contain much of what is not good for us, including sodium, preservatives, sugars, saturated fats and trans fats. The most nutritious part of whole grains is the outer cover, the part that is removed to make white flour and white rice.
Because of their lack of nutrient and fiber content, and all their additives, heavily processed foods can be unhealthy for us and help us gain weight.

Eat healthy, natural foods with a high ratio of nutrients to calories and you will not be fat and you will not go hungry. You will be healthier, too.
