Shower stealing my pounds!

I've noticed that I always lose 1-1.5 pounds after taking a shower. Has anyone else noticed this? What could the reason be? 1.5 lbs worth of dirt? :D

Are you taking VERY hot showers? Maybe you sweat tons of water out.......a pound and a half seems a little insane though :p

I have no clue :p

Or maybe you weigh yourself before the shower with your clothes on........sorry, not trying to insult your intelligence.......just a thought :)

Um, I obviously weigh myself with clothes off before and after showers. I take warm showers, cooler than most people actually. Its baffling!

Take showers more than annually and you wont lose so much dirt!:biggrinjester:

Do you pee ALOT in the shower?:biggrinjester:

Really though, I think I agree with humidity messing with the sensor.

Or perhaps it is the "fountain of youth" to weight loss.

But I believe that is how humidity monitors work, the humidity changes the tension on a coiled spring similar to the ones inside of scales. Or maybe the added moisture just does mess up the sensor if there is no spring.

Aah! Humidity. That is a very good answer. Thanks a lot.

Edit: Oh, and I usually don't pee in the shower.

Put your scale in a different room and try it, and let us know if it really was the humidity!

I was thinking that maybe you weighed yourself then took your clothes off and hopped in the shower.

You could always do a test...

Put something that weights about 20lbs or so on the scale... like a pile of books or whatever... Record the weight

Then Take a shower... and weigh the same pile of books and see if the weight changes... you know the books didn't gain or lose weight so the weight should be the same...

If it's not the same you know that it's humidity altering the scale

Brilliant ;)

Okay, I tried the 20 lbs test thing, and weighing outside of the bathroom. It was indeed the humidity. :p

A bunch of books weighed 11.3 lbs before shower, and 10.8 afterwards. I weighed only 0.2 lbs less when weighing myself outside of the bathroom. :)

Ok so you can be on myth busters... :D it's a cool show they blow things up...

that's like the perfect job -though when they cleaned the toilet with cola that was pretty gross :D
