So a few months back in August, I was playing basketball with some friends and injured my right shoulder. It didnt seem serious at the time, a simple bump knocked me over and arms shot out in front of me to stop my fall. I felt a distinct pop in my shoulder for a split second(i thought it was just popping out and then back in its socket or dislocating and returning back to position). I didnt really think anything of it at the time because getting knocked down happens all the time in sports and the pop was over in a second. My shoulder felt a little sore but there wasnt any pain so i continued playing fine.
The next day however, my shoulder could not move at all. Simply raising my arm slightly would hurt alot. I couldnt workout and took some time off from activity involving my shoulder at all. After a month or so, I was able to lift weights again with little to no pain(some slightly discomfort only in shoulder presses which i then stopped, but not bench).
Now my shoulder has gotten to the point where it doesnt really bother me in every day life. I have full motion of it without any pain, though i can sometimes feel something like discomfort when doing motions like jumping jacks. There are some occurences where my shoulder does feel pain, like if i throw a particularly hard thrust(hitting a volleyball or throwing a punch) but nothing too serious or sharp.
I know my shoulder is not completely healed because when i lay down and place both my hands behind my head(like im resting) and then try to raise both my elbows up to touch infront of me(with hands still behind head) my left shoulder easily moves up. In my right shoulder, there is some discomfort that "feels" like my shoulder rotating in the socket. Does anyone know what my particular injury is and how serious it is? Will it heal over time with rest?
Thanks in advance.
