Should I continue to lose weight?

Okay, so at the beginning of the summer I decided to lose some weight. I'm a 6'1" boy, 18 years old (19 in 2 months) and I previously weighed ~172-173 lbs. I wanted to lose some weight though since I am really into clothes and prefer a slim/skinny look. After a month and a half, I'm now down to ~155 lbs. I've received a few compliments about looking good, but my parents (same as a few others I've noticed who posted here) have become very disapproving of it. Both of my parents constantly tell me that I shouldn't lose anymore and even sometimes say I look too skinny. No one else tells me this, though.

The unfortunate thing is that I still want to lose some more weight. I'm already pretty muscular and have a rather athletic body. I still want to thin my thighs some since that is where I store almost all of my fat and I'd like a more proportionate upper and lower body (my upper body is quite lean). Is it bad for me to still lose weight? I checked my BMI and according to it I could still lose some more weight without being underweight, but would like a second opinion.

Also, what kind of foods should I be eating (or not eating) if I want to lose weight (cutting down on fat specifically)? My mom is a dietician but I really don't want to ask her at this point. Also, what kind of exercise is best for burning fat? I currently run and use stationary bikes, but was wondering if I should switch to something else.
Thanks.

P.S.: Sorry for posting a request without posting something substantial in another thread, I'll try to make up for it.

Hi!:seeya:
I am no expert, but I will offer my opinion if you want it. At 6'1" I think 155 sounds very, very slender for a male. Heck, even for a female. Can you try weightlifting to increase your upper bulk to "balance you out?"

Others will likely have better advice, but for what it's worth, I'd say you accomplished your goal of getting more fit. Why not stop and simply enjoy your new, healthy body?

Best wishes on your journey,:driving:

that would also be my suggestion. start bulking your upper body to match your lower. 155lbs is very lean for a male of that height... i seriously doubt u need to cut down further
