Self-Sabotage.... Sigh
I managed to make it all the way down to 153, and I got really excited... and then I spent a week eating junk food. I have no idea why I do this every time! Once I actually reach a goal, I self-sabotage... I do this all the time with junk food. No idea why.
However, I have made it to 156 consistently - I am officially under 160. It was much easier with my poster up, when I had that visual motivator. I had to quickly move houses and am staying in a friend's spare bedroom, with no room to stretch and no wall space. My motivation dropped DRAMATICALLY once that visual got taken away.
However, I have been cooking more. I actually realized something in the past month - I prefer to eat dinner right after school, at about 4:30 to 5. This suprised me, because I typically eat as late as 9:30 on a regular basis. However, I noticed that I had more energy in the afternoons and evening, and I was then ready to go to bed on time - no sugar high. Also, on evenings where I don't do anything, sometimes I don't get hungry!
I replaced cookies with blocks of cheese for a while (not an awesome switch, but I needed to cut the sugar), and it actually did help. I don't think about cookies all the time now. I also realized that apple chunks dipped in lime juice are a tastier alternative to croutons - I always liked that little bit of crunch, and the lime juice on fresh apple gives a lot of flavor to a fruit-based dressing.
I had my very first tennis lesson yesterday. My girlfriend wants us to play tennis... so I am taking lessons. Being a dancer, the sum total of my coordination is in the half of my body below the waist; my hand-eye coordination is terrible. I can't say that tennis was the most interesting sport I've ever played (I mean, in dancing you don't have to stop to go running after a fuzzy green ball, you just keep dancing), but at least it was some kind of exercise. I also took a walk for about an hour. I've discovered that I kind of like walking more than anything else.
One of my relatives noticed that I had lost weight, which was nice. I'm not sure how many inches I've lost, but I know that it's going down. I'll pull out the tape measure tonight.
