Today is 8-22-07 and today is the day I decided I was going to do something about that fact that I didn't have anything to wear today except the tight pair of jeans. Why did I have to wear the tight pair you ask? Well I only own 30 pairs of jeans (some with tags on them still) and only 1 pair actually fits and that's because they are stretchy LOL Then I have 1 more pair that is doable and 2 pairs that are less doable but still doable....muffin top comes to mind when describing them. So since its summer I have been wearing shorts, which my shorts are apparently a little larger than my jeans, information I did not know, but I am taking some classes in the evening and shorts are inappropriate so jeans it is. So imagine my surprise when they fit a little tighter than they did before...dang!!! And since like I have already said I own 30 pairs of jeans I flat out refuse to buy another pair! If I lose "some" weight I will be able to fit into some of the new jeans. So goal for now....fitting into smaller jeans that I already own...well not really smaller same size than I am in now, which is 18-20, just they are cut smaller I guess or the old ones are just that much more stretched out lol.

Long term goal...I said in my intro post 180 but really my goal is to be back in an 8 to 10 clothes. I am 5'-10 1/2", thank goodness or my weight would look even worse, and I weigh 267. I have a large bone structure which most of those height to weight charts dont allow for. What I mean by large bone structure is even when I was in an 8 and 178lbs. (about 9 years ago) and I had little to no fat my wrist was still an 8" because of bone.

Why do I want to lose weight.....
1) Clothes I want to fit in them better and be able to look cute and buy off the sales rack again!!! Seems like plus size are never on sale!
2) To Feel better (ok this should probably be #1 but its not I want to shop!)
3) To look better which goes along with #1 again beacause then I can buy cute clothes
4) To gain more energy this lack of energy SUCKS
5) To not be embarassed anymore about my body

How am I going to do it?
-Cutting out fast food (used to eat it at least once a day)
-Cut out Sodas
-Drink WATER WATER AND MORE WATER
-EXERCISE...I have an 8 month old puppy that is dying to be walked =)


I firmly believe that I am a skinny girl trapped in a fat girls body

*****Oh and most importantly I am going to be 30 in 57 days I would like to be about 20lbs lighter by then*****
 
oh do I know how you feel! The clothes being tighter is one of the main reasons I began the journey. I just refused to believe I needed bigger stuff.. then I would get them & surprise... I would just need bigger! Eeek! So time to change the habits.

There is a Halloween challenge you might find a good motivation to get moving & gain support.

Also I am about to turn 30 (Sept 20th).... what a milestone. I know I want the next decade to find me healthier than this one did!
 
So I decided to figure out my calories for the day prior to eating better and this is what I came up with:

8-21-07 total calories 3699

Lifestyle Change First Day
8-22-07 total calories 1907

Everything I read said reduce your calories by 500....but dang I was a bad eater so I am still full off of the 1900 calories so I think I am just going to stick with that for now and see how it goes. The biggest thing is I took sodas and fast food out and I am strictly water and some milk now.

The only thing that I know is going to be hard for me because its been hard before is the 5 meals a day thing...its hard for me to have the smaller meals just because of my schedule....we will see though I will TRY my best to do it =)
 
Have you tried logging all your foods for the day? It has helped me incredibly. I use Sparkpeople.com, some on here use Fitday. Both are free & seem to be easy to use ways of tracking the cals as you go.

Either way I think being aware is a huge step. I was shocked at how much I ate without realizing how it all added up.

Right now I am just writing it down and keeping track but an online tracker seems much easier I will check it out.
 
Jeans not fitting is the worst! I know how you feel. My fat pants turned on me and started getting too tight. I have to turn it around. I can't have a closet full of clothes that don't fit. This is ridiculous for me.

I feel your pain. You came to the right place for support. Welcome and good luck with your journey!!
 
Ok so I am in Outer Banks NC....my parents live there. They have turned their retirement home into somewhat of a resort for us kids so we are really lucky.....but. Theres always a but my parents stock their pantry full of sweets!!!! Right now there are twinkies, fudge rounds, oreos, chocolate chip cookies, 4 kinds of pop tarts, almost every kind of hershery kiss and chocolate donuts.
I arrived here on Friday about 4 am and I have yet to eat a single bit of any of the junk! Talk about small accomplishments! I made the best decision ever and hit the grocery store on Friday and got some more healthy snacks including fruit, yogurt and light mayo =)

Yesterdays food was:
-Bowl of Fruity Pebbles (not great but it was pre-grocery shopping) with 1% milk
-Banana
-Turkey and cheese sandwich
-6 wheat thins with light swiss cheese (laughing cow)
-sugar free vanilla pudding
-Salad
-Piece of roasted chicken

Today
-Bowl of honey bunches of oats with 1% milk
-Yogurt
-Apple with some PB
-Grapes
-Salad
-Hamburger (no bun) 1 tbsp ketchup
-Sugar free vanilla pudding

And I still have dinner to go =)
 
Oh no the parental snack sabotage!

Hope you are enjoying the beach! I'm right down the coast from you. Something about the actually hearing the waves relaxes you like nothing else can. Hang in there & stay strong against the contents of those cabinets!
 
I almost forgot another small accomplishment.....hubby and I go out to dinner alot and last night we went to Texas Roadhouse...dont know if you guys have ever eaten at one but OMG they have the best bread and butter!! They serve the bread hot with cinnamon sugar butter YUM!!!

Accomplishment was this......I ate NONE OF IT!
I had roasted chicken, green beans and salad for dinner =)

I read this in someones diary and it is working for me when I turn down the bad food
"I have eaten enough sweets and junk in my lifetime that I dont need them now"

Ok so my Hubby drag races and we travel to quite a few different places....so I wasnt TOOO awful this weekend. I was bad a couple times though!

Lets see I still drank my water no sodas..I did booze it a little with some sangria and 2 frozen drinks. I didnt eat any chips or sweets. I got these vegtable crisps I think they are by keebler and were pretty decent for the cruchy not as bad for you side.

Now I was bad with....I ate Steak and Shake including french fries (that I paid for later lol) and then tonight we went to Sakuras (japenese steakhouse) and I am paying for that now lol

Scaled it today and I gained back 1lb of the 4.5lb but all in all not too bad.

Tomorrow....bringing exercising into the mix!!!!
 
Good luck with the exercise!! It will help alot! I know all about the muffin top... that is the reason I decided it was time to loose again. Now my jeans are loose... I might have to buy a smaller size :D.

Ok so the exercise thing hasnt really happened....I have too much going on I am in school 3 nights a week from 6-10 plus work 9-6 Mon-Fri. Plus cleaning and laundry ARGHHHHHHH ok all this is a big ass excuse!!! I COULD get up an hour earlier and exercise...OK I NEED TO!!!! I will try =(

But on a good note I havent faltered to hatefully much...I still am not drinking Sodas except for diet occasionally I am not getting my water in which I know is a problem but I have been still doing good with eating and not haivng desert.

Got on the scale this morning (suppossed to do it on Monday) and it read 260!!!
Yeah that is 7lbs GONE!!!!
 
Great job on the 7 pounds down! That should be very motivating for you. I have the same problem with exercising, though I just rejoined back at the gym so I can go during lunch on days I go to the office (about 3-4 days a week). Anyway, have a good one :).
 
Ok so its been a while since I have updated or logged in...fell off the wagon was up to 275 eek!!!

Anywho today is a new day and as of this morning down to 247! Wahoooooooooooo

Cut out sodas except occasional diet drinking 80-100oz of water a day and adapted to some conventional and unconventional lifestyle changes...

1-Water Water Water Drink it!
2-Weight yourself everyday...I know alot of people say this is bad but I am an instant gratification person and when I see a loss even if it is .2 or .5 lbs it makes it all worth it. And if the scale doesnt move or goes up it just tells me that I need to try a little harder.
3-Take the weekends off....that doesnt mean pig out to high heaven but if I want to go out to dinner and have an appetizer then I do. Now the days arent always the weekend if I go out for a birthday dinner or something than I just subsitute one of the weekend days for that day. Now I dont eat crappy the whole day..just maybe splurge a little one meal maybe two depending on what is going on.
4-Desert....weight watchers only =)


The exercise is coming into play slowly but surely. Tomorrow the goal is to start going 5 days a week so wish me luck!
 
So there appears to be more to the weight loss thing in my household then just for me.....hubby told me a few weeks ago that my weight is a big problem for him. Cant say that I blame him. I was up 95lbs since we got married (only up 61lbs now). I have been at a plateu for the last two weeks though. I know I need to incorporate some more exercise and really really focus on what is going in my mouth. It is super frustrating though when I havent had real desert, sodas, fast food or anything in 3 months and the weight has stopped....but enough dwelling.

Time to find an online food tracker!!!!
