I will get you caught up as I am 1 1/4 months into my routine. Since I was 12 I have been overweight and okay with it. I have always been an active guy, I played Hockey, Baseball, Football competitively until the age of 22. After that I became lazy in the regard of activity and sports. I have a bigger build even when I dropped a lot of weight during football season. Although I am only 5' 8", my doctor wanted me to stay above 190 lbs because of my build. I never really gained or lost a lot after 22 but it just progressively went up year by year. I began a very sedentary job which caused the weight to pile on. I began eating junk foods late at night for comfort because I was not happy where I was at and I didn't care. My disgust came to a head when one night I got up and I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn't even look at myself it was just disgusting so I covered the mirror. I weighed myself at 284 lbs! Many things in my life were screwed up and things needed to change. I knew something needed to be done and quick. I had a dusty gym membership that I had not used in months and when I did it was maybe once every 2 weeks for 45 minutes.

So I cleared house of all the sh*t food that I had and set up some guidelines and goals. I started slow at the gym just doing cardio exercises to work on fat before I worked on muscle. I ran 3 miles on an elliptical which took me around 35 minutes and I would do some sprinting exercises as well. After 2 weeks I lowered my cardio to 25 minutes which got me around 2 - 2.5 miles and I started using weights and medicine balls. I have been working on my routine and I have already shortened my mph time to 2.75 m in 24-25 min. I also have increased my weight amounts. I am starting to feel much better both mentally and physically and I am dropping weight faster than I expected.

As for my diet, I was eating fast food and restaurant food 2-4x a week. I am down to one restaurant every 2-3 weeks, no more fast food. I went from 2-3 huge meals in a day to one balanced meal, one small meal, 3-4 snacks (carrots, fruits, yogurt, cereal, etc.)

This is the start of my diary and I really could use some kind words and advice, if you have anything negative please keep it to yourself. I have run my diet through my doctor and he is happy with it.

I will post each week how all is going and the results of the week: ( I am not conceded, this is just for me to vocalize/write my accomplishments)

Feeling good. Lot of things went awry in my life but this is keeping it glued together. Do positive things and positive things will happen.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?

You doing great. Last April I decided it was time to loss weight also. I had been "BIG BONED" most of my life and the tragic death of my mother due to diet related issues scared me thin. I walked a mile at first and worked my way up to 8 miles a day. I lost 47 pounds in 5 months and feel great now.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks to everyone's support, it is great to have help. I will be posting a picture around sunday of my current shape!
