As I'm approaching the limit of how much weight I want to lose and anticipating starting on maintenance, I am a bit anxious, because I have a very difficult time with moderation in eating.
I always have had that struggle, and that's the reason why I attribute the majority of my success losing weight recently not to my own great efforts but rather to my husband, whose constant presence has simply prevented me from overeating regularly as I used to do when I was mostly eating alone.
For instance, there are many foods, basically just the unhealthy ones, that I want to eat only in very large quantities.
Give me an ice cream cone or a cookie, and I honestly have zero desire to eat it. Give me a gallon bucket of ice cream or a box of cookies, and I'll have a major major craving to eat the entire thing!
The same thing goes for whole meals too. I have no problem eating a healthful meal of moderate portions. But if I have something less healthy, it tends to send me into a mode of wanting to eat more and more in quantity and more and more unhealthily afterward for the rest of the day.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice? Thanks!
