Scoobee's Weight Loss Journey

Where to begin??? How about - hi...I'm a 45 yr old female from Ohio. I've been obese since early childhood. Lost & gained enough weight for a small country. Hit my goal a couple times only to lose it (no pun intended) :) I did make it to goal this past August and since have had many personal things happen to get me way off track. Regained about 20 pounds. :banghead:

Not giving up. Never. I just need to get back there and maintain it this time. I have a rather lengthy (yikes - like 28 pages!) diary on another site that I began 2 years ago, but since that site may be closing I figured it would be a good idea to start one here. Having a daily diary seems the only way to hold myself accountable.

Currently, I count calories...exercise, the usual stuff. For cardio I like to use the elliptical, bike, or dvds (Turbo Jam and Tae Bo are faves) at home. On alternate days I go to Curves to get in some circuit training.

I haven't had a chance to do any reading here yet; I thought I'd at least introduce myself first and then go dive in. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome again! I just posted in your into thread haha. Congrats on getting going on your diary. I'll pop in and check on how you're doing every time and again.

What are you aiming for as far as calories? And you have an elliptical at home!! Awesome!

Thanks RadiantPebble for your welcome! I appreciate it - I was hoping this was a friendly place! :grouphug:

As far as calorie intake goes, right now I'm staying around 1400-1500. After that recent weight gain, I'm finding it harder to cut. :cuss:

Sunday
Calories:1485
Exercise:Turbo Jam Cardio Party 1 dvd (43 min)

Wow - is this a busy forum or what? That's great! I started my diary last night and find myself on page 3 now. I was hoping to find a place that was active and supportive - this could be really cool. I'm going to try to get some reading in of other diaries later this evening - just heading out the door to get a workout...

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Scoobs

Ok, so I DIDN'T head out the door to workout. Changed my mind. I really wanted to head over to Curves, but I was still a bit sore from the Turbo Jam dvd so I stayed home and got my workout in.

A little too high in calories, I sooo blame it on TTOTM. :cuss:

More later...

Monday

Calories:1635
Exercise:Walk Away the Pounds 4 mile walk dvd (57 min)

Hi RP - oh yeah, variety is really key for me. I work hard at mixing things up to just beat the ole boredom thing...yawn.

No workout to report today. My bad. Got busy, then had to get groceries, ended up eating dinner at 10:30 pm. Nice. I've got more excuses if you want. ;)

Calories right now at 1475...unless I eat that sugar free chocolate pudding that's calling my name right now...

CG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I just saw your intro - I am so excited you found your way over!

Like I replied in your intro thread, I am thrilled to find a place like this that has such active diaries, but sooo sad at the prospect of losing our precious site. My gosh, I have 2 years of stuff there.

But, who knows...maybe things will still work out, but if not...maybe all of us can still stay in touch over here? I am pretty sure Hisgal will come...she said she registered here but hasn't had time to check it out yet.

Anyway - great to see ya over here! :seeya:

***still thinking about that chocolate pudding***

And I actually went to bed and never did have that pudding. ;)

Scale holding steady the last couple days @ 154.5 which is awesome considering I am right in the middle of TTOTM. I haven't changed my ticker yet because I am a Saturday weigh-in person. Sounds silly, I know. But it's the only day that truly 'counts' for me so I will wait and see what the evil scale has in store then.

Have to run some errands...and MUST do some form of exercise today!!

Ha, I think it is good to have designated days to weigh your self. I am actually trying to find a good plan to work out for me and my hectic schedule. At least you did something the other day. I am sure you will get something in today. And hey every pound counts!

Welcome Scoobees! Looks like we are about the same weight with (almost) the same goal! Glad you made your way over to our forum... lots of great people here! SO WELCOME AGAIN! :D

Wow - thanks again for the welcomes...you are making me feel right at home!

I just lost a HUGE long post...I took a call on my cell, then finished the post and didn't realize you must get logged off after a few. :( Oh well, it was a bunch of rambling anyway...I felt the urge to tell a bit more about myself. Maybe I'll get into it again some other time. Bummer.

Got my workout in today - yay! I will post exercise & calories later this evening - I am SO hungry right now!!!

I hate it when that happens! Just the other day I was taking an order for this lady at my work (Macaroni Grill), and I had to go and talk my manager about whether or not we sell Champagne because Im only 18, and I didn't even realize there was a difference between champagne and wine. haha But any way, my manager was on the phone, so basically it took forever, and by the time I got back to my computer, the whooole order had been erased! And she was one of those that has to alter every single dish. It was a pain in my butt.

But at least it wasn't like a 20 page paper or anything!

I just recently joined the forum that you used to love, and I'm sorry to hear that you're being forced out. But I hope that WLF will be just as much of a home as caloriesperhour was. :)

Hiya WittBound - you're a recent member of CPH? I wonder if I'd recognize your username there (if you want to share that is...). I do love that place; I guess it's just I have soooo much history there...next month will be 2 years. 2 years of victories, setbacks, giggles, rants & raves, tons of support, and tons of severe rambling...;)

I can see already that this forum is also special. I feel so lucky to have found another such supportive place.

Ugh. Accidently slept in a little too much this morning. Must get myself motivated because I know myself a little too well and I'll try to skip out on exercise. :leaving:

Yesterday went well. Got in the exercise, calories were within my goals, etc. Actually feeling sore from the Tae Bo; it's been a little too long since I've done one of those dvds. It's a nice sore though...thighs & booty feel like they've been worked nicely. ;)

The last 2 weeks have been great; I'm hoping to keep the flow going. I haven't went into detail here (I lost that enormous post yesterday where I DID go into lots of detail), but I am such an emotional eater. I'm sure a lot of others can identify with that! Hubs & I have been through lots in this last year - financial stuff, bankruptcy, etc...and unlike him - I eat away my feelings. :( That's always my way of dealing with such stresses. That's how I've regained this weight. Boooooooo.

Anyway, I'm learning...I'm dealing...and found that taking things one day at a time (what a cliche!) seems to be my key.

Even though my day started late (oops!) I still managed to get some exercise in...it was only 30 minutes but better than nuthin'!

Trying to get caught up on stuff today; like laundry (groan), dishes, etc. Crappy stormy weather - it's ridiculous. Anyway, not much to report on just now...tomorrow is my regular weigh in day - I am sooo hoping to change my ticker! C'mon LOSS! :hurray:
