Scarlett Johansson Is Inspiring

One of the most inspiring people I think in hollywood would have to be Scarlett. She has a great curvy body that she takes care of, and has been picked as one of the hottest women in the world! She makes alot of people that are like her (me included) feel accepted and beautiful. She doesnt try so hard to be thin. She is just herself and she's proud of it. If I were to choose to look like anyone it would be her because her image is realistic!

She's beautiful. I wonder how much she really weighs. In real life these people are stick thin and short. It just appears that they have big curves.

others you could add to that list - of not necessarily inspiring, because I detest that word, but people who at least from outward appearances, are staying true to themselves.

Andie McDowell - there's been a print ad running for a Loreal hair color for a while now that she's the spokesmodel for - and in the print ad are very clearly visible crows feet around her eyes... She looks more beautiful with the wrinkles than had they been airbrushed out.

Sela Ward - over 40 an absolutely gorgeous.

Catherine Zeta Jones aslo beautiful and not reed thin

Apparently these are her stats.

Occupation: Actress
Date of Birth: November 22, 1984
Birthplace: New York, NY
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Green
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 115
Bra size: 34C

115 seems very innacurate for someone who's 5"4. She doesnt look 115. I think they're telling a little white lie ;)

Yes Sela ward is very gorgeous for her age. Another one whom I think looks fantastic is Christy Brinkley.
I think all of those makeup ads are a brunch of crap too. They are not accurate. They give everyone false expectations.

I did say "apparently". :)

But I don't understand why she couldn't be 115 at 5'4"? It's a healthy weight for her height.

A lot of people tell me I don't look my weight, but I am that weight.. :p

She's gorgeous anyway.

I disagree. Scarlett is lucky. She would be inspiring if she made a concerted effort to look healthy. On her own admission she does nothing to maintain her weight. She does no exercise. So it's purely down to genetics and maybe wise food choices on her part.

This isn't inspiring to overweight people like myself. If it was, then the message would be "Do nothing. Just remain as you are", and obviously we don't want to (at least I don't)..

Don't get me wrong - I love Scarlett. She's one of my favourite actresses in the whole world and I think she's gorgeous, and naturally so. But on the weight front there's only one word that can be used for her: LUCKY.

People who are inspiring include Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce, and I say this because they work their a&&es off to retain their figures. I personally think that if Beyonce didn't work out as hard as she does, she would be a lot bigger (hips and thighs anyway). But she works out at the gym, eats healthily, dances like crazy. This is an inspiration to me, because it clearly shows the results of sheer HARD WORK..

Beyonce's idea of slimming down is to go 2 weeks eating/drinking almost nothing except water with maple syrup, cayenne powder, and lemon juice mixed in. She lost 20 pounds in 10 days. Also, the biggest attraction of the two girls that you mentioned is due to their genetically fat butt. What exactly is so inspiring and healthy about this?

Corndoggy, it's easy to take a single statement and expand it so it becomes bigger than it really is.

I am aware that Beyonce lost 20lbs for her film role - that was not what I was referring to. Hardly any mention is made of how hard she works in the gym normally to retain her svelte figure, but everyone is quick to sit up once something less savoury pops up. Beyonce went on that crash diet for a film role - at least that's her excuse - but the point I was making was the actual work she puts into working out..

I am aware that they are very popular for anatomical reasons, but I'm more focused on the work they put in at the gym because I'd like to believe that if I put in the work I'll reap the benefits. That's what inspires me... (I'm not concerned that they're not 100% the way I'd like them to be)

Rho I absolutely agree. I haven't responded because I feel exactly the same way. Sure she's inspiring if your measurements happen to be 34-23-35...she's genetically gifted with the most curvaceous figure ever and she doesn't work out. I agree that is not inspiring for me, because there's no way I could ever naturally have her figure. If by inspiring you guys feel that her soft natural look is a good alternative to super skinny celebrities that shed weight as a fashion, then I agree sort of that she's a little inspiring in that she has enough sense not to hurt herself by holding herself to Hollywood standards. But of course why would she, she seriously has the most beautiful figure. I hope to be more athletic when I get there.

“At the wrap party the day after filming they had these cupcakes and I ate about twelve.

After that I ate waffles, fried chicken, cheeseburgers, french fries, everything I could find.

That was the best time of my life. I’ve gained twelve pounds.”

-- Beyonce

How inspiring.

I, personally, have been looking to real people (not that film stars are aliens or robots, but I'll assume you know what I mean) who are in my life for inspiration. For example, one of the spinning instructors at my gym went from 213 to 115 in the past year by eating well and training five days a week. She has become my personal guru, especially because she can relate to the struggles. She is inspirational to me because she did what I am trying to do.

Since this is about media, though, what about Kate Hudson? She lost a lot of weight after having a baby, and she did it healthily.

Personally, I think that if you're really looking for a half famous chick to look up to for inspiration, you ought to check out Niki Gudex. She's beautiful, a pro athlete, a pro model, and could straight up kick the ass of them big bottomed singers any day. She can't get away with that binge-eating fad-diet crap. Her idea of busting ass in a workout is well, well beyond these TV starlet barbie dolls.

Also I'm surprised that nobody mentions Demi Moore anymore.

Thanks Lukewarm, I was thinking about this too.. It's easy to admire people who are already beautiful without thinking about whether it's down to genetics or pure hard work on their part.

Oh, and corndoggy, you're free to extrapolate on every statement Beyonce has ever made. What woman on earth doesn't have issues with her weight? Doesn't have moments where she's not satisfied with herself? And I see you're back to the film role again.. I'll bet even Scarlett herself pinches her non-existent fat rolls sometimes in the mirror and thinks "Hmmnn, I wish that was smaller", but luckily she has enough common sense to realise how beautiful she is and that she doesn't need to lose any weight. I don't see you making any positive comments - yours seem to be attempts to tear down constructive statements. I've told you what part of their lives are inspiring to me. You're free to dwell on the rest if you wish, but I need to pick the bits that'll help motivate me..

And I think Jolie is absolutely right in looking for real life inspirations. Unfortunately the only people I knew who've lost a lot of weight either did it through starvation or through surgery. Hopefully someday I'll be an inspiration (although it doesn't look like it's anytime soon)

Also, Kiera Knightley.

Whoa. Mmmmmm boy. Look at them abs. I love her.

She kicks ass in "pirates", but also even moreso in the lesser known "King Arthur". She blows these other celebrities out of the water. That's not "luck".

My bad corndoggy, you did offer a positive example...the same example you seem to pose in other posts (I've seen a post of yours advocating her bounteous assets). Yes, you like her, she's your ideal woman maybe :) Good for you...

One point: Not everyone can be a pro athlete etc. What about real people who don't exercise for a living?

Unfortunately I wouldn't want to look like Keira Knightley, as beautiful as she is. She's just too skinny for me.. I understand your bias, I really do. You're married to a professional athlete, so your standards are way above those of the hoi polloi like myself... I've got to choose as my inspirations those I can identify with somehow...

Even the tabloid magazines moaned about how skinny Keira was...and she should be my inspiration?..
