Dont be too worried about it. It is simply a defense mechanism going off because you are radically changing your lifestyle. You will get use to it very soon.

Its like this, you leave a school in one town loaded with friends to the brim and you didnt want to leave. But you go to a new school and hate it or you are scared of it or you feel left out or vulnerable. But after a little bit, you start to make new friends and you move on with your life. Then you look back on it and say to yourself "Damn, those were the best times".

It is all about routine. What also helps with your problem IMMENSLY is this:

Go to bed earlier, wake up earlier. Go for a walk or jog. Come back, take a shower and grab a cup of joe. Waking up 3 to 4 hours before work clears your head big time and leaves you in a better mood. You will be one of those people that you wonder about on the way to work that somehow can tolerate their loud stereo that wizz by you in traffic.

It can be so overwhelming at first - but take comfort in the fact that you are going something great for your body. Don't give up!! You CAN do it!!

There are a few tools that helped me get started:
<- great tool to help you figure out what goals are best for your body, tools that help you plan meals, figure out exercises..

<- also a great tool to help you track calories, activity & goals.

<- track your miles walked/run using your address & a map.

This forum was a godsend for me. So many great helpful people. If you have questions or just need some support - just start a thread and chat away. Good Luck!!!! :D:D:D

PS: I'm from Indiana too - Woo!! :D:D

It's totally normal to be scared. Scared of change. Scared of failure. I've been there. Actually, I go there quite often. *smile* I think it helps to set small goals...success breeds success. Just take it one step at a time...we're all here for you.

You will do fine welcome to the forum and start yourself a diary!

I think everyone is a bit aprehensive when they set out. I was certainly scared of failing...! I don't feel that way anymore though, because I'm 100% convinced that I wont let myself :) If I have a bad day or whatever I just put it behind me and work twice as hard the next.

It is a big change but you do get used to it quickly... I think the hardest is right after you start, but once you start to see and feel results that is SUCH a huge motivation boost.

This forum will go a long way; it's good to have others in the same position to advise you and answer any questions you have. It's also really inspiring to see others doing well themselves -check out the "before and after" forum for pictures of how well people have done.

I think the best thing you can do is just take it one day at a time... that way it doesn't seem like anything too huge to handle. :)

Good luck with the weight loss.

dude we are so glad you are here and being scared is totaly normal, just keep posting and belive in your self and like others said "baby steps" throwing out all the bad food is a great way to start, but rermember not to set your self up for disaster by setting your standards an goals to high!!! If ya wanna become an awsome fiddler ya start by picking out a fiddle and getting lessons not by scheduling a concert in a week! ;) So take it slow and good luck!!! :D STAR
