Saying hi and looking for friends

Hello everyone. I just thought I'd introduce myself. I am a 24 year old female. Every since high school I've noticed I've had a bad habit of gaining 10 pounds per year it seems and now I managed to cross that threshold into the 200s. I'm currently 211lbs and have decided to attempt to get down to 143lbs. My plan is pretty simple. I'm going to do it the old fashioned way and cut back on food intake and start exercising. I wont eat over 1600 calories per day and I'll exercise 5 days a week for 30min to an hour to start. I'm the kind of person who tends to lose motivation easily but I feel I'll do much better with the support of this forum which I think is absolutely great and also because I'm at the biggest I've been and the 200s became a huge eye opener for me. If anyone wants to go through this journey with me feel free to let me know. I need all the help I can get. AND...good luck to everyone. Losing weight is hard. I've tried it many many times before.

hi ewilder1! i'm also new to this forums. i'm also on my journey to losing weight. i'm sure the people here will be of help to us.

Hi elwilder1, I'm currently helping my mum through this journey too. I'm encourging her to lose the weight. She also has a lot of health problems too, which makes this more of a challenge. Wishing you well on your journey to losing weight.

Hello and welcome to both of you. Elwilder, your plan seems very solid. You're right it so damn easy to lose motivation but this forum is such a wonderful place for encouragement and accountability. Losing weight is indeed extremely hard but always remember "if not now...when?" We can't spend the rest of our lives dieting. There's just so much other things we could be doing.

Good luck and see you round :)

Thanks everyone for the warm greeting. To Daybehavior - you were so right when you said "if not now, when" and you seem to be doing great. 34lbs lost is awesome!!
