So...today begins my weight loss diary. My wife and I started our weight loss about a month ago and we're both down over 40 pounds combined! I'm at 19 pounds lost and she's at 22! We had a healthy breakfast this morning. (Banana Smoothy, turkey sausage, Whole Grain Oatmeal, water and vitamins!) We're both on the Dr. Phil ultimate weight loss solution and it's been a bit of a struggle for me. I want to get down to 185! Currently at 236. I can't get past the 201b mark...it's so frustrating. I'm going to go in 1 minute to go ride the exercise bike for a good 45 minutes. We have a stationary bike with a fan on the front. With the arms that move back and forth... it's so hard to push past the burning in my arms. Sometimes I feel I complain so much...but you know what they say...no pain no gain! I'm hoping that with the help of my wife, and everyone here...I'll continue to stay motivated...avoid the constant bombardment of donuts at my job (CURSE YOU SWEET LOVERS!!! :p ) and loose the weight! We're going to go visit my family in South Carolina for Christmas and I want to be down at least another 20 lbs before then! I'll check back in after my work out and a shower!

Hey! Welcome to forum. Great job with you and your wifes' loss so far! Support and motivation are most definitely always available here. Keep up the great work. We're all rooting for you!

It's always helpful to try and lose weight with a partner.

There's always someone there to lend support, provide motivation and to share the experience with. Not to mention the best form of exercise ;) :D :p

Welcome to the forum :)

First workout on the forum

THANKS FOR ALL THE WELCOMES

Here's the breakdown of todays workout:

19 minutes on the stationary bike
10 minutes on the gazelle
another 6 minutes on the stationary
20 pushups (Thanks Army training)
15 situps (See above  )
Done to complete muscle failure...

I haven't sweat that much during a workout in I don't know how long! A little background history on me.... I was in the Army back in 1997, lost a bunch of weight (was down to 177), gained a bunch of muscle, and after getting out of the army shortly after (The military was NOT for me), I gained it all back and then some. (up to over 255) I've always been Big Boned...and put weight on like you wouldn't believe... but I never really pushed myself to get back down..until I was at Blockbuster video one day and a 14 year old girl came up to me and said "Excuse me sir... you remind me of the dad from Family Matters" I'm sorry... nothing against him, but going from being compared to as someone from Boys to Men to Carl Winslow makes me sad... :(

So here I am... trying my hardest to get back down to a flat stomach, smaller clothes, sexier and healthier for my wife. More active and less winded for my kids... I'm excited and need so desperately ways to stop my sugar cravings... Like find an activity to do when my craving surfaces! I should change my username to sucker4donuts! THanks for reading! I'm going to go look at all of your diary's and give as much support that I can! Thanks again for the welcome!

Before and During Pictures to come

Saint!

Sounds like you have a good mental attitude. When i have sugar cravings i come on here, and read peoples diaries, it helps take my mind of it,. which is probably why im on here most of the time.

Have a great week! :D

I have sugar cravings like you wouldn't BELIEVE, I can totally relate. My dad used to get donuts, bring them home, and I used to eat 1 and then 2 and then 3 and then 4...really... a dozen of donuts would be gone in two days!!!! I can't believe I just admitted that. lol. Anyway, we can do this!! I agree with Janez about coming here to stir off cravings, also to motivate yourself more. I also drink tons of water which helps my cravings, I also eat sweets too, so I don't neglect my body. I get some low fat or low cal ice cream and have a serving of that once a day or every other day.

Good luck with everything, stay strong, drink water, and keep coming around here!!

So..to cap off the night... DW and I had 2.7 ounces of chicken (seasoned with Ms. Dash) A cup and a half of carrots and a piece of the YUMMIEST bread! I know I know..carbs...but hey....it was a smaller portion of meat.... We're watching extreme makeover home edition and I need to iron clothes for tomorrow! I gonna attempt a morning work out similar to this afternoons... 5 A.M. YAY *sarcasm sarcasm sarcasm* Wish me luck!

Good start to a good day

It's 7:52 a.m. It's my birthday today. My birthday started at 4:50 a.m. I was up, dressed by 5. So was my lovely wife. We were going to alternate, 10 minutes on the Stationary, 10 on the gazelle, 10 on the stationary, 10 on the bike. Now...it's been a bit since my wife has worked out..she's been eating healthy for the past 2 months, and the weight has started coming off from that alone...she decided to "speed up the process" and work out with me. By 5:10, we were both going. Me with my iPod, here with CMT on. We start going good for a bit... she makes it past the first 10, as do I. But I keep reminder her to take her time..it's been a while and I don't want her to over do it... She agrees, and goes to shower to get her day going.... I'm proud of her for getting up and trying... I love how she's trying to improve her health... and energy. We're both tired of being over weight. I want clothes to fit me better.

So here's the breakdown from the morning:
20 minutes : Stationary bike
20 minutes : Gazelle
25 pushups
20 situps (no cramping at 15 today!!! YAY)

I'm about to have some herbal tea... then start my water regiment. I try to get 100 oz down a day. I have a 50.7 oz water bottle that helps me keep track. I have baked chicken w/Ms. Dash seasoning to go over my salad for lunch. and an apple for snack! I'm hoping today goes good...nice and easy! Thanks for all the support guys...I love this board!

OH..and one more thing...I checked the scale... I'm at 233.5!!!!! I broke the 20lbs mark!!!!! Gotta change my ticker!!!
