Thanks Feelinggooder, size32someday, Alice29 and Cate,

It's always good to get good feedback..and yes, the cake was tempting , but not too bad...I've come this far, I'm not going to get derailed by a cake!

This morning, up and at 'em and did my first change up on the exercise program... 45 min on the elliptical for 635 cal + 45 min running on the treadmill for 230 cal. I can feel the run today in my hips, but I felt OK overall..seemed to sweat alot more during the run than I did on the elliptical...sure did giggle all the fat! I think this switch up will work out...we'll see!

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, sweet n sour chicken strips, mixed veggies, walnuts, cheese and cranberries mix

Lunch: smoked turkey, chinese veggies, fried rice, 1 banana

Dinner: Hot green tea

Good Monday to all...you have a good one coming your way!

Sarah

:) yay for the treadmill! I love it when i have the right kind of energy for it! Your speed is impressive your fitness levels must be really good. I could never imagine doing a marathon! lol. I used to outdoor run about most days about 8 years ago Id love to get to that level again. For the treadmill when I brought my gym trainers, the guy told me to put it on an incline to reduce the impact on your body. You look great in that leather jacket ! :)

Running! Cool!

I think its good to switch up the workout. I think our bodies get "used" to certian movements and exercises...

I notice I get more sore and exert myself more when I do something else besides ride my exercise bike.

AHello, how's it all going? I just don't know how u do it...r u superhuman? I went to the gym today and used the cross trainer (thats what they're called this side of the pond) and could only.manage 10mins and even that was a struggle I don't know how u do 60mins its just so tough.

AHeya :)

Ooooh well done on the running! As you probably know i am addicted to it :) I have to actually limit the amount that i do cos i want to run everyday!! (we are supose to rest our muscles every other day so they repair stronger...apparantly!!)
I am blown a way that you did a marathon, i can't see myself lasting that long but i couldn't see myself being able to run at all 7 months ago :)

You are great inspiration, you rock :)

Sarah, You certainly have stepped up another notch! Well done you! Kate has inspired so many to run & you are also being an inspiration for all of us to get off our butts & MOVE! It's the key to long-term weight-loss & maintenance I think, & is great for upping our metabolism & boosting mood & self-confidence. I really wish I had a treadmill but will have to wait for one. It's way too rough & hilly where I live to run & there isn't a gym within 40km. I'll stick with my bike & walks for now. Love hearing about your work-outs. Cheers Cate

Well Hello World!! It sure has been a long day and I'm glad to be back home!

Tink: Thanks for your encouragement and I hope to do the same for you!

Kate: It's you who reinspired me to run again (sorry I got mixed up on the Cate/Kate). I've been so heavy for so long that I just didn't want to injure myself by pounding my body like that...now it's getting back to a weight where I ran several miles...it's still too heavy, but do-able! Thanks again for the inspiration to try...3 days in a row...yes, I probably should take a break, but I'm on a roll!

Ski-bunny30: No I'm not super human! I'm just an old lady who wants to act young and lose weight...who is stubborn and determined as they come! (Thanks Mom and Dad for those genes!) Sometimes it's a blessing and a curse at the same time! To reassure you, I didn't start out like this...when I first started this journey, I was exercising 30 minutes 3 days/week...I've worked my way up to 60 minutes every day and I've pushed up the calorie burn count progressively, upping my target each month...slowly but surely!

Cate: Sorry for the mix up between Kate/Cate on the running credit...you both are great inspirations to me and help me daily! You are so right about the exercise upping the metabolism and improving self confidence...Thanks so much!

Brawny77: I think you are right...it is good to keep the body guessing on exercise...wouldn't want to get too predictable! (it's OK for my brain to know, but I want my butt and my belly fat to be in the dark and get surprised...maybe it will get scared off!)

Today, got up at my normal 5:00am and did 45 min on the elliptical for 644 cal then 15 min running on the treadmill for 232 cal. My hips are still a little sore, but no other problems doing the run!

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, sauteed chilli-chicken, sauteed baby cabbage, sauteed kale, and the normal walnut, cranberry and cheese mix.

Lunch: Ate out today (as I was hosting a conference) and not exactly sure what all...black fungus, shredded dried tofu and cucumber salad, sauteed chicken, grilled fish...little pieces of most all of this...but not very many pieces of anything!

dinner: 1 banana and some hot green tea.

Really tired tonight..I was running a full day meeting with participants from 3 countries...hard to keep control and keep people engaged during 10 hours of this, then have a debriefing with all our bosses afterwards...I'm exhausted!

Thanks again for all your help...together we can all reach our goals!

Today, got up and for whatever reason felt full of energy (after my drainer day yesterday, I guess walking and thinking at the same time would qualify for "full of energy"!) I decided to do my full 60 minutes on the elliptical and let my running muscles rest for a day..so 60 it was and I cranked out 936 cal (told you I was full of energy!).

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, sauteed chicken, beef tips and turnips, the walnut, cranberry and cheese mix.

Lunch: Filet mignon, grilled squash and carrots and fried rice and 1 banana.

Dinner: Hot green tea.

Happy trails to you!

That looks like a super-Sarah quality day between the crazy elliptical numbers and the early meals followed by green tea for dinner.

Great idea to give those sore running muscles a break.

i wish i had your determination. your exercise routine is great! way to kill that elliptical. You doing a great job keep up the good work.

Way to start the day! Wish I had an elliptical, those things burn calories like crazy. thanks for all the support in my diary, finally made it in here to see what is bringing you such success, very inspiring :)

AHello
U did the right thing giving ur running muscles a rest. Apparently u are to rest from running every other day...its prob a good thing apart from the muscled running also puts a lot of pressure on ur knees etc that's why today I just did a swim just a bit of a leisurely work out today :) still feeling good :) thank u for motivating me x

Sarah, I think you are fast becoming the one to inspire us! What a woman! I'm exhausted just reading what you do in one day. :svengo:Please send me some of your energy, xo Cate

Thanks ya'll!

Well...all that energy must have got spent yesterday...because today wasn't nearly as impressive! I just didn't have the energy this morning. I had good intentions...but...well, just fell through!

I got up and did the elliptical for 45 minutes and only got out 563 cal, (already less than the 600 planned)...then went to the treadmill and started to run and pooped out after 2 minutes...so I did a few free weights and some situps on the incline board and then called it a day. It's surely not a catastrophe...but not what I had planned!

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, sauteed baby cabbage, sauteed green beans, boiled kale and the walnut, cheese and cranberry mix.

Lunch: baked chicken, fried rice, chinese vegetables, a banana

Dinner: Hot green tea.

Came home from work a little earlier than normal...and tonight, I'm just relaxing...really busy at work right now...I really love my job and I'm not complaining...just really busy and it can take a toll if I don't watch it!

Your workout was still great! And the amount you can burn on that cross trainer really amazes me. Its hard if we have done extra super one day, and then the next we don't match up but we still do good, I guess our bodies can't cope with doing extra super workout days everyday, and that's the way our body tells us to go easier this time! For me I have also noticed over the last few years that some days I have lots of energy, and other days I don't, I guess energy levels can just change, and also for me it can depend on my moods to the level of energy I have. It also could depend on how well you have slept. You should be really proud for sticking to such a good routine.

Just the fact that you wake up and bust that all out first thing amazes me. I snooze till we have to rush out the door in the mornings. Great job, and...for some reason I'm now craving fried rice after reading your menu. Good thing I have no idea how to make it ;)

YES! I've had panko breaded deep fried seaweed wrapped rice balls before. *sings* HEEEAaaaaveeeeNNNN! They were at a food fair at my son's elementary school for a fundraiser all the parents made extravegant food dishes and they got auctioned off. Of course I had to bid on them. they had a sweet and sour dipping sauce tooo...omg...if I could eat those again I would in a heartbeat (or heart attack...whichever...).
