Sounds good to me. Working out is great but rest is just as important. Well done getting all the things under control!

Thanks!! I felt a huge difference in my workout today after a 3 day rest. I did twice as long on the stair climber, went harder on the Treadmill and and not in pain after!

Definitely seeing the benefit of rest and relaxation.

Glad you had a rest, flower. Sounds like it gave you lots of energy and motivation for your workout - well done on the stair climber, I hate that damn machine!

Down to 238.2lbs today (and I actually ate yesterday so it's 'true' weight loss). Had 2 boiled eggs and some veggies for dinner with a couple tbsp of salsa. Supper is a veggie stir fry with tofu. Hoping to get to the gym again tonight but it's not crucial - I have to get some work done around the house and more cooking so will decide how I feel at that time.

There's a business meeting at our church tomorrow so if I can't go tonight, I can't get there tomorrow so my guess is, I'll be there tonight!

@Sunflower_ , I'm the same way! That machine is evil.

GUYS!!!

I signed up for my first race...it's a beer run. We're running 6km and then have 14 4-oz beer samples to enjoy! It's in August so I have LOADS of time to prepare but yay! My first race ever!!!!

:D Now that´s my kind of motivation! Speaking of: maybe I should find a 5k to do in spring or so?

I'm training with the couch to 5km app on my tablet. It's really impressive and actually gives me a good workout 3x/week. Granted, I'm still on the stair climber (BOO HISSSS) and elliptical and lifting weights as well as incorporating a 20 minute stretching routine after my workout (which feels amazing).

SO far, I'm running/walking a 9.36min/km. I want to be down to 7.5 min/km by August which I think is pretty reasonable. I don't need to be fast but my goal is...don't be last.

Yesterday, my first day on couch to 5 was 1.5 min walking at 3.5 and jog 1 minute at 4.3. I did this for 20 minutes and then did a warmup, cooldown.

I am getting to the church business meeting tonight and then back to the gym. I got there Monday, Tue, hopefully today, and the plan is Thursday so I have Fri night off with hubby...unless he's going to the gym, in which case, I'll be going back there Friday too!

I'm at 228.8lbs (yesterday, it was supposed to say 228.2 not 238 but I'm still used to writing 230's apparently) and ready to get down to 220's!!!

Im sick and I want to curl up in a ball and cuddle with a cup of tea. Instead, I'm negotiating with a toddler on the benefits of napping!!! GO NAP!

A beer race sounds fun! The end (the beer) kind of defeats the purpose of the run, but sometimes you need to do stuff like that to make things liek running fun!
If you enjoy that, check out Tough Mudder. I'm not sure where you're from, but I think it's an international event.

Thanks! Hubby brought me home dayquil which is helping and I am probably the only one who is STARVING while sick - so I just ate whatever would go down. It was a terrible calorie day BUT it's not going to kill me and I'm back on track today and feeling better!! I always figured that when you're sick, depriving your body of nutrition is probably a dumb idea. I also didn't go to the gym yesterday and really not sure about today - going to see how i feel this evening and go from there.

I guess there's a lingering head cold that just sticks around but isn't too bad leaving me to think that I probably should do some light working out if I'm going to have it for awhile. No point in not - especially if just a sore throat/watery eyes. No lung congestion or sinus pressure as of yet. Serious muscle fatigue and exhaustion though. Hubby let me sleep from 7pm yesterday until 8am this morning and I was still exhausted.

Hopefully a good - slow - workout will get my energy back up and part of this icky feeling is just a Christmas energy crash.

Thanks Cate! I'm definitely starting to feel a LOT better today - well, ish. I got to the gym to work on my couch to 5km program! It was a good workout but I'm really tired and going to bed soon! Ate a lot of junk today but again, I'm not being that concerned right now. I am resetting tomorrow when I (Hopefully) feel even better.

I'm also going to stop weighing myself until the end of the year (hahah). I would like to see how it goes and if I can tell that I'm getting healthier/feeling better and stop needing the scale to validate that fact.

Anyways, bedtime! Gnight folks!

I'm starting to feel better - sort of. Oldest kid and I ended up with pink eye after a HORRIBLE poop incident. It didn't surprise me that my oldest got it, youngest has been spared so far. Drops 4x/day have us non-contagious now but still, ick. I am still using dayquil/nyquil to get through the day so training is at a minimum. My sanity says "go to the gym" and my muscles are enjoying it but I'm just tired of feeling 'icky'.

I'm down to 227.2lbs and I've been eating better. Trying to eat 4x/day and keeping it around 1500 calories. I'm hoping tomorrow will go down to 226...but I'm feeling so good.

Our family went for a walk yesterday before the snow started - it's great to see myself pushing the strollers up hills that I struggled with even a couple of months ago. I'm really proud of the work that I'm doing to better my health and seeing it rub off on my husband and kids. He's working out more to 'keep up' with me and is below 200lbs now (he was up to 220ish).

I also fit into my pre-baby winter jacket. It's TIGHT - like uncomfortably tight - but it fits which saves me a hundred dollars this year. Hubby and I are picking up winter gear for NEXT year this spring (when it's on sale) so that we can exercise outside more with the kids.

I finished my first week of the couch to 5km program. It involved running 1 minute and walking 1.5 minutes for 20 minutes. I'm now starting 1.5 minutes running to 2 minutes jogging. While I can jog further, I keep reminding myself that this is training for distance without injury and without pain.

I also signed up for a 5km foam run in September with my sister! We are travelling to Moncton to participate in it. There are 22 obstacles including a water slide, a mud pit and LOTS and LOTS of foam! :D Yay! It should be awesome!

Anyways, that's what's going on here. I'm tired right now, I'm still sick and I feel icky...but I feel like I'm accomplishing something and the positive changes in my life are impacting my family! It's awesome and I'm excited to see more and more positive changes.

That's a LOT of positives and negatives. Yay on a healthier family and the jacket but boo on the Poop Incident! And keep taking it easy in the gym as long as you need meds.

Oh lord pink eye is horrible. Glad to hear you so positive but do take it easy if youre still sick
