running up and down stairs?

Ok so i'm trying to lose some fat so i can see some clear abs. I've decided to do cardio 5 days out of the week. Would running up and down stairs be a good form of cardio? Yay or nay?
 
i sometime do this as a form of HIIT. run up, walk down, run up, walk down, etc. it is a good form of exercise to incorporate into a routine :)
 
That is what I like to do when on vacation. I will book a hotel in a high rise hotel and do the stairs.

You should use a heart rate monitor so that you know if you are training correctly.
