Running-shoe less exercise

Hello all! I just wanted to write for some suggestions for what I can do for workouts to burn the fat that I am quickly accumulating on my midsection.

I moved to Lima, Peru recently for a brief internship and will return to Canada in May. However...since being here, I have put on weight due in part to the fact that my activity level has gone down, and because I am eating so much more and so much worse here (but that is a whole other thing).

I can tell that I have gained weight in my midsection...which is really the only part of my body that ever gains weight. As it is, I didn't pack my running shoes because I had really limited space in my backpack when I came here and the only shoe that I have that resembles a running shoe are my converse low-tops. So I am looking for different kinds of workouts I can do that do not require a lot of ankle support, as I obviously cannot take runs as I would prefer in shoes that don't support my ankles. I still practice yoga regularly, about 2 - 3 times a week.

Any other suggestions to help peel this weight off fast? My boyfriend is coming to visit in 2 weeks and it would be great if I looked the same way I left when he gets here! Thanks all!

Skip rope? Jumping Jacks? any kind of circuit training really... Martial arts if they offer any of that where you're staying. Reducing foodintake would help too.
