hi im training to be a personal trainer, my current assignment is to write a 6 mounth programme for a non professional rugby player, he has been out for sumtime and would like to become sports specific fit and start playing again.
i have to use periodisation,... what i am unsure of is at what point in the programme should i include sports specific drills, im assuming i will have to build up a base of fitness before i include agillity, power speed drills ect,.. but at what point would be best to include them?.. and should i use linear periodisation at first to build up his general fitness, then use undulating periodisation so that all aspects of rugbyb get coverd moer than once a week? im finding it hard to find any information can somebody help? thanx xx
