Rissa's Weight Loss Journey

Where to start? My weight is up a pound today. Yesterday was I was 205.6 and today 206.6

Last night for dinner, the kids wanted to go out to eat. My husband picked Golden Corral (buffet) so I could eat as much salad I needed to get full. Plus they have steak, chicken... all kinds of good stuff. Anyway, it was harder in reality than I pictured in my mind. I haven't been tempted or even had any cravings. Then again, I wasn't surrounded by high carby yumminess at home either. I did stay on plan, but it was pure torture. I could actualy see myself in my mind eating fried shrimp off my sons plate. My daughter had a delicious roll covered in butter that I wanted so bad. I had a plate of rotisserie chicken and salad, then when everyone got dessert, I had another piece of chicken and another salad. It sucked. I refuse to do it again. I would rather go to a real restaraunt and just have my plate without so many bad choices laying around.

As far as exercise, lets just say I am out more out of shape than I realized. lol. I was drawn to Turbo Fire because the trainer was so energetic and fun. It was constant motion, she never stopped. lol. It was really hard for me to keep up. My kids did it with me and I am ashamed to say, they kept up way better than me. They are 3 and 5! My biggest problem was my breathing. The video was 30 minutes long, and after 15 minutes I had to stop. I wanted to stop after 2 minutes but I just kept thinking about why I was doing this and the end goal and Disney. It only got me to 15 minutes. I have decided to put Turbo Fire on hold until I lose a little more weight and get my breathing under control. I felt bad for quitting so I did my weighted hula hoop for about 5 minutes. When we got home from golden corral, I got on the treadmill for 20 minutes. At 5, 10 and 15 minutes I ran for an entire minute and it was doable so I decided I am gonna do the couch to 5k program. The one I downloaded on my phone is 3 days a week for 8 weeks. M, W, F will be my days. I think its a good start. As I go along, I am sure I will be able to add more. As far as my weight gain, I am guessing it was from the exercise. At least I am hoping, I stayed on plan but when you eat out you really never know what ingredients went into your foods. So we will see...

As far as school, I got hit with a ton of assignments and reading today. All due within 1-2 weeks. I will be super busy. I will have to really stay on track with meal planning to make sure I eat the right things during the day. My mom has decided to come visit at the end of January. I wasnt expecting to see her until we went to Disney, but she has some vacation days and wants to come see the kids. It was actually really good timing because the army is sending my husband to school and my mom picked the same week he will be gone, so now I wont be alone. It will be good to have someone here to help with the kids. Cant exactly lock myself in my room and leave them alone to do schoolwork. lol.

Day 15 Meal Plan

B: Atkins Shake

L: Crockpot Salsa Chicken

D: No idea

Here is a picture of my lunch. It was delicious! Put it in the crockpot on high this morning before I took my daughter to school, and it was done by lunchtime. I topped it with some lettuce and sour cream.

Well, thats it for now. Hope you are all having a good day!

Golden Corral??? OMG, that is torture!!

The pic of the chicken looks delish!!! Well, all of your pics look yummy!!! Think I need you to come and cook for me. I have been having the same thing day after day because I either can't think of anything or no time to cook. We ended last week by winning first place in the Big 8 Tournament but that also meant 3 nights away from home in a gym. I did handle last week a lot better than the previous week and down a total of 14.8 lbs as of today. I hope I have finally detoxed from sugar enough that I can really focus on how much better I feel and working on losing the next 15 lbs.

Walking is still hit or miss and sleep is still deeply needed. Last Friday night our HS team played an away game so our gym was empty. My kids invited a few friends and we had a friendly game of 6 on 6, full court. HOLY CRAP, wore me out!!! But everybody had fun and it was a workout, so we are going to try and make it a weekly thing. I have done parts of the c25K program and really enjoyed what I did. However it took me longer than 8 weeks. There were a few weeks, I just didn't feel ready to go to the next step so I stayed on that level for 2 weeks. We actually have a class at school that is a group who completed the c25K and now they are working on running a 10K.

All I can say about sports is that yes, it does run you crazy and at times I feel that it costs me an arm and leg but I wouldn't trade one day for anything in the world. If they didn't love it then I would say, no biggy......you don't have to play, but all 4 of my kids LOVE what they do and it gives them such a great feeling of self confidence and pride. I know everybody says this but time really does flies by, and they grow up so fast. Enjoy every minute of it. Just seems like yesterday that my "Baby" who is now in college was playing little league baseball and football. sniff sniff......

Well, I am exhausted so heading to bed

Hope everybody has a great day tomorrow

L
