Right amount of cardio for weight loss

I have posted before on my weight loss, but im at a plateau now and im wondering if doing cardio 6-7x a week is to much? i goto the gym and do weight training 3x a week. Would it be ok to do cardio only on days i dont do weights? I was losing 2-3lbs a week, now its slowed down and ive lost about 4lbs in 4 weeks. I was 240lbs, im now about 186, and im 5'7. I was in a big rush to lose the weight bc im sick of bein fat, but im coming to realize its gonna be slow progress from now on.. how much cardio is to much? is there such thing as to much cardio?
 
Yes, that is too much cardio.

If you've stalled, then chances are the problem is in your diet. How many calories are you taking in?
 
Ive been using the fitday program and getting the food as close as i can... the last week ive been eating around 1200 calories with a split of 50-60% proten 20-30% carb and 15-20% fats depending... usually its 50/30/20 though. I do eat breakfast/lunch/dinner and 1 snack, its hard to get the 2nd snack in given my schedule and i dont eat after like 10pm. How much cardio is a good amount? 4x a week?
