I was wondering what some of you order when you get take out or sit down to eat at a restaurant. I try my best to pick out the healthiest things but I was wondering what you guys went with. Thanks.

If it's chain restuarant Iwill usually check the website before i go out...

just to be sure - (places like Panera bread can throw me off because what sounds healthy isn't always...)

Otherwise I will stick to what I like.. I don't like fried foods, never really have.. so I stay away from those, I also like a lot of flavor but without butter - so I'll stick with something really spicey - tomato based - non creamy - fish or chicken

If it's fast food, I pretty much have it memorized. I count calories, not carbs or any of that stuff, so, it's pretty easy to remember.

My usual meal at a fast food joint consists of a grilled chicken sandwhich with a salad instead of fries and a bottle of water or a diet coke. I sometimes have a small chilie instead of fries when at wendy's though.

As for restaurants, I eat only grilled chicken/fish and avoid any cream based sauce that they may be inclined to drench it in. As for sides, steamed veggies are good, but I usually opt for the salad. If it's on a bun, I'll usually eat it unless it's noticeably unhealthy (coated in garlic butter or even just greasy looking!)

For starters, why not have a tomato/broth based soup like; chicken noodle, minestrone.

Just stay away from heavy breads, and avoid "dips" as they are usually bad.

I'd avoid anything that says "covered in a rich blend of our best cheeses"
THat's usually baaddd... lol

Keep in mind that if a menu choice says LOW CARB, it's probably chock full of calories... and not contains stuff that you want to be eating...

Eating out is always hard...they make everything sound good!

'A rich blend of toe jam mixed with our savory ear wax'

It's all the marketing!!

I'd say chicken all the way...

Eating out is meant to be fun, not healthy. Those healthy things that are advertised, are marketing gimmics. Dont expect to eat healthy while eating out. What you can do is reduce the portion you eat. Eat less or spit a plate with a friend.
