Reebok Retone VS Sketchers Shape-Ups

I was wondering if anyone has any idea if these actually work or not. I have some extra money and wanted to buy either the Reebok ones or the Sketcher ones. I have no idea which one is better (if any). Which one do you prefer and why? Both are somewhere between $100-120. So the price is not a determing factor since both are the same. I just want the ones that work the best. My gut says Shape-ups as they look higher and thus make me believe that I will really be feeling it more than the Retones that are lower. But I am not an engineer so maybe I dont understand their design well.

Also Sketchers has the Shape-Up Flip-flop style shoe. I kind of want a pair of those as well.

Any comments or advice as to which one I should get?

Just this week I purchased Payless Shoe Stores version of Shape ups....It was only $40! I dont' know if the shoes actually tone anything or not...but it does feel like your walking on air! Especially the heels. I think the $40 is well worth it :)

Oh wow, that is a good deal. I just looked on the payless website and they do have them for $40. The brand is Champion, which is not a bad brand at all, maybe just not as well known as the others.

I was thinking of getting my sister a pair too since she is trying to lose baby weight and is a single mom and does not have a lot of extra money to spend. If I get the Champion brand I can get her and I a pair and still have money left over for the Sketcher flip-flop shape-ups as they cost $50. Not a bad deal at all.

Lets hope they work *fingers crossed*
Ive heard some good reviews from people who bought shoes like these. One woman said she lost a whole pant size after she started walking in them. She said she contributed the weight loss to the shoes becuase she didnt change her diet or exercise plan. So this is really encouraging indeed :)

I have a question. Wouldn't it be a bad thing to put undue stress on your legs and butt while you walk? It just seems like a bad idea to me.

I mean I have read tons of stuff on how to pick the perfect running shoes, and they stress how important it is to pick a shoe that doesn't stress your leg muscles.

Theres a good chance Payless could be having their BOGO sale too! You could get 2 pairs for $60

I'd see how they feel on and the defining question is "how do they look"/ do they go with the rest of your wardrobe? theres no point in having shoes if you have nothing to wear them with and so end up not using them! I have MBTs, never wear them, they don't look good with anything I own!

I have fitflops, I have two pairs now, love them! But I have yet to see any difference in my body shape. However I spend a long time doing cardio or cardio under resistance at the gym, I'd imagine a pair of fitflops have alot to contend with if they want to beat my workouts! I wear them as they look nice (and fit my broad feet!).

I don't believe any shoe can make that much difference tbh, I noted the posture improvement last year: as a result of the instability I had ended up poking out both my belly and my bottom whilst stooping my shoulders in order to regain some stability back again- NOT what was supposed to happen! Now I have corrected my posture but its safe to say I don't believe any shoes deal with posture properly.

I think their statment that it does all these wonderful things is highly overrated. Like I said...the only reason I really love the shoe is how much softer it is to walk on. i don't feel any difference in my muscles.

Well good news, Payless did have their Bongo buy one get one half off sale. I got two for me and two for my sister for about $120! I am pretty happy. We shall see if they work :)

I don't know what brand it was but I had flip flops with really curved bottoms 5 years ago before this whole trend started. I think I got them from Payless. It wasn't for fitness at all but it was designed just like these new shoes are now. I liked them just because it felt really good to walk in. Didn't feel as if any muscles were activated or anything. Then again, they weren't for that kind of thing. They were just flip flops lol
Like Korrie, I wore them because it was like walking on air.

I have the ree tone shows and I don't use them anymore. I tried them on the treadmill and found them uncomfortable for running.
