So pole dancing aside, I'm still of course doing yoga and weight training - actually more weight training than pole dance lately, as I've hit a plateau. Basically I need more upper body and abdominal strength before I can continue on to more difficult pole moves. So while I strengthen up, I'll basically just keep in practice with what I know until I can progress.
In the meantime, classes have started and I've opted to take a course in Aikido for credit. Had my first class last night and it was pretty fun! Got to throw some people around and all =) The instructor says I'm very fluid for a beginner and catching on well, so hopefully I'll be able to kick some butt by the end of the semester. I didn't find the Aikido training to be very challenging as far as a workout, but it was the first day and we'll be working on technique a great deal rather than strength. I mean, the idea of Aikido is that you can conquer someone stronger if you do it right.
