Rebel's Diary

An old fishing buddy of mine came over and she took me out to chinese. Did fairly well. I know carbs are high but im sure i didnt get anywhere need my maintenance calories. If i did well it was just one day no big deal. I stayed away from pasta and rice except for 3 wontons in the wonton soup. Everything else was sauteed or broiled. Omg the boiled shrimp.....
Had a plate of melon and i guess since i really havent had any fruit it was soooo sweet. Overall not a bad night.

Its been a pretty good day.

Breakfast- scrambled eggs and bacon. (540 calories)

I see peppers and onion, too :p I´d probably have some veggies with those eggs and bacon as well, but that´s just because I use veggies like they´re oxygen.

I've noticed my energy level going up. It's probably a combination of weight loss and eating healthier foods.
Its warming up here fast so im thinking of planting a vegtable garden. Maybe also some fruits even though i dont eat the much. Melons and berries like strawberries dew berries grapes and things like that. The veggies im not sure about yet.
Im going to plant an above ground garden so that i dont have to deal with weeds. Mostly doing it to cut back on the grocery bill it'll be a good reason just to go outside more often.

Things I'd definitely grow in my hypothetical garden: herbs, sweet peas and green beans, simply because they're never as young and fresh as they should be when I buy them. And once you've had a young carrot right out of thr garden you'll never want the supposed baby carrots from the supermarket again. Same with any kind of berry but not grapes. Any fruit that's expensive/hard to harvest and store when it's truly ripe. Also: most berries have so much fiber their sugar enters the blood stream nice and slowly.

My grandfather had a huge garden when i was a kid. Everything taste better home grown. U dont like grapes?

I love grapes but they store better than many other berries and are thus easier to get in a good quality from the farmers' market. My parents have a massive veggie garden and I miss it almost more than my family :D
O: Cherries! If you have room for a small cherry tree that would be the official best thing ever in my book :p

Yea i love cherries. Im going to plant some fruit trees when i finally move out to the ranch. Thats why im thinking berries for right now. They grow really well in large above ground planters.

Hi Rebel. I would plant spinach, kale, fresh herbs in pots(flat leaf parsley, coriander, chives & mint). I would have a blueberry in a pot & take it with you when you go, same with a lemon tree, lettuce mix, spring onions, red onions, tomatoes as soon as your weather permits.......

I love everything on your list. I have never tried kale. I'll have to buy some to see what it taste like.
What im sure about so far is tomato, onion, peppers hot and sweet bell type, cilantro, egg plant, potatoes, brussels sprouts, strawberries and maybe fig. The lemon tree is a good idea.
A full on herb garden will happen as well.

Tried tofu tonight. It was different. I marinaded it in picante salsa thinned with a little beef stock. I baked it and it was really good. It was kinda meat like but the texture is something i guess you have to get use to.

Wow, looked through the last 3 pages of your thread, you always have a deficit of 1000+ calories. So, are you losing like 3 pounds per week (1-1.5 kg)?

Nice to see someone else going strong.

Wow, that's great! Must be nice to see such changes occuring in your life!

Your weight loss will probably slow down, but I can tell you from experience that the later kgs are much more visible than the first ones (it's also logical, think about peeling an onion. Every peel you remove is smaller.
I lost a bit slower than you (1 kg/week), and have lost 8 kg in the last 8 weeks, and it makes such a big difference. Can't imagine what the final 10-14 kg will do. But I expect my weight loss rate to drop to 0.5 kg per week eventually.

Some people feel so terribly about themselves that watching other people succeed bothers them. There's a word for this type of person - pathetic.

Sometimes having a 'phrase' helps shut them down - something like "I'd appreciate if you'd keep your opinions to yourself or I can leave the room and you guys can discuss this with each other." or "This is my lifestyle now and I'm not subjecting you to it so I'm not sure why you're getting so aggravated."

I tend to have a few phrases memorized for when I know there will be a tension-filled situation. It gives me a boost of confidence to practice those phrases so that I know I'll be able to say 'something' instead of just getting upset and fuming.

There will always be moments that attempt to railroad you - an injury, a bad relationship, a bad friendship, family members who suck, or even just a plateau that gets you down. This is just practice for the future and for keeping the weight off. You're doing a fantastic job! Keep it up!
