just feel really fed up today, i havent lost any weight all week and only 5lbs for almost a month. i did go back to the gym today but my heart wasnt in it for a long run so i just sped the treadmill up and just did 25 minutes. i dunno whats going on, weather its becuase of staying at my gf`s for 2 nights last few weekends or itas what i`m eating.
i just feel like i cant lose anymore:puke:

sorry man, you are doing something wrong. That is why calories in vs. calories out is not always good advice.. you need to follow a specific diet, because you are clearly not following a "healthy eating regiment", and that is okay, because it's not easy. I recommend getting reading some of the diets online (4-hour body, South Beach, etc.) and find something that is less-painful to follow. You sounds like you are like me, bad with abstract ideas like "eat less" and "less calories"... I do much better with clear instruction like specific diets provide. You can keep doing what you are doing, but it's obviously failing, so time to change? I have lost 50 pounds in the last 5 months, 40 of which was in the first 3.5 months... you need to change your diet man.. stop spinning your wheels.

i put on another pound last night, all i had to eat yesterday was a small bowl of cereal, a veggy pasta with much less pasta than i usually have and a satsuma. i also went to the gym and did 25mins of running.

it seems to be since i stoped goin to the toilet as much, do u think i`m just holding lots of water even tho my body should get used to that and i should of started loseing weight again by now.

I dunno man maybe try going on one of the mens health diet plans for a little bit. they seems to have really well balanced plans that teach you better eating habbits.

It sounds as though what you had to eat yesterday was not nearly enough. One resource I've found very useful are the GI Diet books by Rick Gallop... They do give lists of foods to eat & those not to eat, so that you're not left guessing... but they also have recipes and sample meal plans to help start you out and teach you those healthy eating habits.

Does anyone ever feel like they hear a lot of stories like, "I felt like I was eating more, but I was losing weight!"

Yeah, me too.

well i had a tattoo yesterday and felt to sore to cook, so i ordered a veggy pizza from domino`s and guees what, i`m 2lbs down from yesterday. how crazy is that.

The body doesn't lose weight in a linear manner. It goes through cycles that include plateaus. The body has an involuntary mechanism (self-defense mechanism) where it adjusts your metabolism trying to "hang-on" when it senses you are not getting enough calories to maintain. That's why you have to change things up sometimes and trick your body. Sometimes eating less can actually make the plateau reaction worse. Don't get discouraged over what does or doesn't happen in a week...try to look at it over a longer term. Graph your weight loss over time and you'll recognize the plateaus and know that what usually follows one is another dip in weight. My weight never goes steadily down. It goes down a lot one week then nothing for 2. Then a bit more a week and then nothing. Then a lot the next week then nothing for 2 more, etc.

thanks thats deffinatly somthing i`m goin to have to get my head round

You're totally right, BugDude... it can be so frustrating when you hear: "you should be losing 1 lb per week" or something similar. It can be hard to remember that that is an average over time, so some weeks you may lose some weight and other weeks you might not!

it can be frustrating too because the weight loss never, ever seems to happen when you think it should. I can run 40 miles in 6 days, and lose 0 pounds, only to have a week off from running, and lose 3 pounds. The body has SO many factors that influence weight loss, and for this reason, something purely objective like the scale has a hard time telling 'the truth'.

If your body looks, or feels better then keep going forward, and use how you feel as that weeks method for judging success, then after a few weeks check the scale again.

I am very biased towards myself. If I don't feel lighter, I don't weigh myself... of course, this is all in my head, but it allows me to "see" the best results, because I don't want to be discouraged by numbers on a machine!
