Hey all! :waving:

I started working out a couple of months a go and have lost 10lbs so far! I decided to join the board just to keep me motivated.
I currently weight 150... give or take a few, depending on the day :blush5:. I'm 17 years old, 5'1" and I really want to lose weight before college in July. I am ready to start a new life, make new friends, and feel good about myself! My goal is to lose 15-25 pounds before I graduate in June.
I was very consistent through August and the middle of September and I took a break in November because I was focusing more on school. Then Thanksgiving came along and then Christmas time ect. ect, so now I'm getting back into the swing of things and I am ready to rock! Thankfully I haven't gained any weight!:hurray:

I read some stickies pertaining to me and I have a few questions that I hope can be answered.

My first question, is my goal a realistic one? I want to be losing at least 1lb a week.

My second question is if my workout regime is good. I spend about an hour at the gym 3-5 times a week, depending on my work schedule.

Work out regime:
  • Warm up is 20min on the treadmill - Speed: 3.0 Incline: 6 or 7
  • Three reps of 20 on the leg press -70lbs
  • Three reps of 10 on the chest press - 40lbs
  • Three reps of 10 on the ab crunch machine - 40lbs
  • Three reps of 20 on the inner thigh machine - 75lbs
  • Three reps of 10 on the tricep push down thingy machine lol - 40lbs
  • Then I run for 10-15min on a speed of 5.5 to 6.

Will I continue to lose weight this way? I have a very athletic build, I have a lot of muscle it's just under all of my flab!

My last question is about food. :svengo: Should I have a more strict diet?

I don't count calories, but I do check nutrition labels and try not to eat fatty foods. I cut out soda which was easy because I was never a soda drinker. I don't have breakfast because I eat lunch at 10:45am and I get to school at 9:30. I eat a large salad usually for lunch and then maybe a ham sandwich when I get home from school. I work at a pizza place so I usually eat pizza for dinner while I'm at work. Usually veggie.

Thanks for taking the time to read this wall of text, and thanks for the help in advance.

1 lb/week is definitely doable - just aim to burn 500 calories more than you consume each day. I'll leave the other questions to someone who's more knowledgeable than I am. Good luck meeting your goal! :)
