Ready To Rock!

I don't know what got into me this morning, but on my way to work it hit me! ...I hate feeling tired all the time ...laboring through small physical motions like standing from a crouched position or walking up stairs. I am tired of feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. I have felt this way for years and it will never change until I do something about it.

So a quick Google search lands me on your doorstep. Ready to make a change.

Wish me luck. I hope my motivation lasts :).

Exercise, portion control, and avoiding fast food will be my biggest areas of improvement.

Will power is my problem. I believe I know what to do, at least to start, but simply can't make myself do it.

About 10 years ago I lost 95 lbs by exercising and choosing a low fat diet. But I was 22 then. I have since put on 40 lbs with each of my wife's pregnancies, lol. Somehow she could lose it and I couldn't. With the two kids and a 1.5 hour commute to work I just can't find time to work out. But the man who looks for excuses will always find one and I have to start looking for reasons I CAN loose weight instead of reasons why I can't.

How old are the kids?? You could take them for a walk with you in the evenings. Commuting is hard, my husband did it last year. I know he made it to the gym less than he would of liked to because of it. It might be helpful to involve your family. Also, if you get a small lunch pail and pack healthy snacks it will help with avoiding fast food.

Just some thoughts :).

I appreciate the thoughts :)...

My daughter is eight and she can definitely keep up. My little guy can't though he is only three :). Good thing is I bought a nice elliptical for my wife a few months back. I can use that without having to go out of my way. I did it for two weeks when I got it and got up to 20 minutes. It is a pretty good work out.

now -your name is one of m y favorite characters from one of my favorite movies - one of my favorite quotes from him...

It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise.

I hope doesn't apply to you :)

Yeah, I was going to ask if that was what your name was referencing. If so, you have a good sense of humor about yourself.
When it comes to finding time, it's simple. I read a rant on yahoo about how many hours of t.v. people watch per day. It woke me up and I found an extra 3 hours in my schedule. :D

Welcome, the elliptical is great. I go between tapes and my elliptiacl. Instead of sitting on my but watching tv. I get on it and can workout while watching my fav shows. Good luck.

Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies.. Ranking up there with Space Balls and Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy grail :p..

"Oh good, my way. Thank you Vizzini... what's my way?"
"My way's not very sportsman-like."

lol

Is it possible?

After two days of excercise and eating right it appears I have lost 3.4 lbs. Is that possible?

I feel differences already... I'm not bloated or stuffed and I haven't had those afternoon crashes either.

It's amazing what giving your body the right fuel will do :p...
