Hi! My name is Jennifer and I have been struggling with my weight since the end of High School. I decided to join this site for some support. I feel as if I have no self control over some things and think that some of you on here will be willing to help. I can't wait to get started and see!:grouphug:

Hiya!

You are in the right spot! I joined up almost a year ago and it changed my life. Of course the biggest changes required to make a difference have to come from inside yourself, but the wonderful people and fantastic advice I have found here has helped me more than I could ever put a $$$ value on. Start a diary, get involved in the discussions and learn from everyone you can and you too can find the successes so many of us here have!

Nice to meet ya!

I agree with sirant completely! The support here indeed helps to stay on track with all its motivation and inspiration. Are you following a specific eating plan/exercise plan?

Welcome and best to ya.... after ya look around the forum, let us know if there are any specific questions you have.

As of right now I am not on a specific eating program. I really don't know where to start with that, since that is the area that I struggle with. I work out for about an hour 5 days a week, so the exercise part is totally under control and it is something that I have really gotten into. The eating is what I am having trouble with. It seems sometimes I just eat unconsciously, and it is always the BAD things! Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the welcome and the support already!:blush5:

Keep a food diary, either on paper at home or one of the online sites like fitday or daily plate. You can also start a diary here. I am personally comfortable with fit day. If you are very honest about every bite that goes into your mouth, you can see where you excess calories are coming from and that makes them easier to eliminate (or at least find a healthier substitute for)

Good luck on your weight loss jouney!:waving:

Most experts agree that the most successful weight loss has to do with calories in vs calories out. CHeck out for a free journal and tools to help determine what amount of calories you should be shooting for in order to lose weight.
(Personally, I use a similiar program the SELF magazine that does the same thing and have a much better and healthier outlook that is leading to a permanent weight loss for me- its not a diet, its a lifestyle)

Good Luck!

Jen, welcome to my world. . . .I, too, work out but get in trouble by eating the wrong things.

I think I'm going to try the food diary out.

Well I did the online food journal and in just one day realized that it is already gonna help me. I have watched everything that I put in my mouth so far today. I am afraid however, that I may not eat enough! Yesterday I burned WAY more calories than I ate. I hope that it will help me balance things out!
