Ready for Change

Today was a pretty good day for me... makes up for last night.

I exercised for 40 minutes today. Yay!

My calorie intake today wasn't too bad and I certainly made up for it with calories burned. I didn't eat at work tonight either which is a feat when you work at Panera.

Now I am going grocery shopping at 11pm!! Wahoo! Gonna pick up some healthy foods and things to snack on. I'm really looking forward to grapes and carrots!

Hi Jess! Welcome. I'm new here too. I've found so much awesome support here. A bunch of new friends who are going through the very same struggles you are. There will be days when just checking my diary and seeing responses gets me motivated again. Its wonderful. Don't worry about falling off the horse, we all do it (like BG said), the key to succeeding is just getting back on. Leave the guilt behind. Don't stress about goofs. Nobody is perfect. Beating yourself up is not going to help you. Try to love yourself and give yourself a break.

Dancing sounds like a really fun way to workout! Do what works for you. This is your new lifestyle so make it fun. Make it "you". I'm realizing it can be fun. Healthy food can be awesome! And once you get down portion control, you just get used to it.

Sorry to ramble. Again, welcome. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Thanks littlekeylime!! Everyone here is pretty awesome, I agree.

I spent a toooon of money on healthy food last night, so I should be set for awhile. Yay fruits and veggies!

One thing I've learned is to cut and freeze my veggies to keep them fresh. I cut up peppers, and onions and freeze them in baggies. (bang them against the counter to break up the pieces.) Then when I make an omelet or something, I just take out a handful of the frozen. That way everything stays fresh. I have Biggest Loser meatballs I make and use in a ton of recipes. I freeze them too and only pull out a few depending on what I'm making. In the past, my veggies would go bad before I had a chance to use them all up...Just a little goofy tip from me.

Enjoy those good foods!

Hugs,
Michelle

Thanks for that tip! I don't know why I never really thought of that before. I don't know much about healthy food or about cooking for that matter.

I just graduated college and I'm new to the whole cooking and making it not convenience foods only thing.

I love to cook. But I'm a lazy cook! Every time I can use a short cut, I do. That's why I like the Biggest Loser cookbook. It uses a lot of the same ingredients. And I adore low fat cream cheese and have found many uses for the stuff. Makes healthy food taste rich and creamy. After some time you will find the quick and easy favorites of your own. My healthy recipe list is growing and it's making my lifestyle change more fun and tasty. BigGuy recently told me about a good cookbook called "". He really likes it and it has 7 ingredients or less for all meals so I'm loving that! I just ordered it. Can't wait to check out the recipes.

Have fun with your foods. Oh and CONGRATS on graduation!!!

I totally just ordered that book and the Biggest Loser one! Thanks so much for the suggestions!!

I can't wait to try some new recipes. I'm a picky eater though, so we'll see what I can work with!

I think you'll like the biggest loser one. The other one too, but I haven't gotten mine yet. Have fun with them and your new weight loss diary!

It has been a good day mostly. I had nothing at all to do today so I spent most of my day sitting on the couch, but I did manage to muster up the energy to do a 20 minute yoga/pilate-cardio workout. OMG!! My thighs are on FIRE! They hurt so bad today. I know it is a good pain...but DAMN!

I have done an awesome job calorie wise today so far. I literally feel like I have done nothing but eat all day, but its been good stuff, hardboiled egg, veggies, cantaloupe, and I had the most amazing homemade cherry smoothie for breakfast this morning. I still have a good deal of calories to spare to still be in weight loss range. Goodness!

I cut up all my veggies today so that they would be ready for snacking at a moments notice. I'm very proud of myself. I expanded my horizons and have discovered that I can tolerate eating red and green peppers and cucumbers... I have slowly started expanding my veggie repertoire as it used to consist of only corn and potatoes. I've been eating baby carrots like chocolate... I'm gonna turn orange if I don't slow down! :p

Its been a good day. I weigh myself on Monday and that thought scares me, but if I can lose just one pound it will have been a successful week.

YAY!

You're doing awesome. Glad you're enjoying your veggies! And I love cantelope too. So low on cals, but so sweet and delish. And congrats on the leg pain. Its fun to feel progress!

I'm doing well! I have lost 8.2 pounds since May 1. Wahoo! That is INSANE!

I have been eating well... lots of fruit and veggies... and i'm eating enough so that I'm not constantly hungry... LOVE IT!

The exercise is going well. My body hurts! But I love it because it is a good hurt and it makes me feel like I am making a difference. I'm excited.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring to me. There are a lot of changes and big decisions coming my way in my personal life and it is just up to me to not let them throw a wrench in my progress.

I'm so excited to continue this journey.

8 pounds is great. Grab an 8 pound sack of potatoes or something and carry that around for a little while and you'll get the idea just how much that is. You'll want to put it down after just a little while. Good thing that you now can put it down, right?

Keep it up.:auto:

Woke up this morning and had oatmeal for breakfast. Then I worked out to one of my Hip Hop Abs videos. After I shower my best friend and I are going shopping.

I haven't been shopping in sooooo long... this could be dangerous.

So I weighed myself today. I'm down to 215... but I'm not holding this as fact quite yet... my official weigh in day is Monday because of the May Weight Loss Challenge. So, we'll see if this holds true come Monday. Dang... the pounds are coming off faster than I ever hoped. Hopefully I can keep them off.

Thanks Trops! Wow... Ten days ago I was a different person entirely. 10 days... wow I've made so much progress in just 10 days... I'm happy with my progress. I never thought I could get so into exercise and eating healthy. It is rather addicting.

At least its a better addiction than eating crap all the time!

Just think, every ten days you can make a difference. It won't be the same evey time, but it will be a change. Weight, strength, motivation, stamina, inches, something.

Great job Jessie.

Thanks!

I've done real well today... let's hope I don't ruin it by going to work. I hate shifts that go over my dinner time. It makes it that much more tempting to eat something while I'm there. Stupid Panera and their stupid tempting delicious foods of death and doom!

But Saturday is my last day. Cuz I'm moving home to take a new job. Big changes a coming! And my weight loss is going to be one of them! Yee haw!
