Ready for a change

Hi all! I am new, obviously :)
I am a 29 yr old female in New England. I have always been "a little" over weight, but more recently have just become lazy and put on weight. My weight now is the highest it has ever been (equal the when I was 9 months pregnant). My goal is to lead a more healthy life style for my son and I and eventually hit my goal of losing 30 pounds.

I am currently on an anti-depressant that I believe is contributing to both my laziness and my weight gain and I don't think it is the right medication for me. I have an appointment to go see a specialist in May and am very excited for that. Hopefully with improving my depression and anxiety, the healthy eating and exercise will come a little easier.

Thanks!
Nikki

Hi Nikki88,

Welcome to the forum. I think you came to the right place. Sounds like you are thinking about eating healthier and losing weight and thats a great start.

I hope you get your depression straightened out. If thats what is holding you back from your goals, it should be your highest priority. You can worry bout your weight and all else after.

In the meantime, if you aren't ready to start....browse the threads on here.....look at the before and after pics....and ask questions if you feel lost.

I've only been here a little over a month and coming here helps keep my mind healthy. Here, I can find motivation and a sense of belonging knowing that theres other people in the same boat as myself.

Again, good luck and hope to see you losing soon!
